They will still be praising You. Selah’ – Psalm 84: 3,4. NKJV.

Greetings
Here we are again, another season, what a joy it is to see the blue tits doing their acrobatics, cleaning the under sides of the trees and shrubs of insects and grubs, also Mr and Mrs Blackbird both feeding and caring for their young and a delight to hear their wonderful song in the evening.
It made me think of the love and care bestowed upon us by our gracious God and Father. “Every good and blessed thing comes from the Father of lights in whom there is no changing or turning”, so we too can sing “Blessed assurance Jesus is mine”, the bread of life. We have the warmth from the Holy Spirit to comfort us and also bringing the seed of God’s word to us in season. Thank Him for His kindness. Easter week was a real fruitful time spent with the dear Lord.
Our attendance at the Bembridge Street Fair on the spring bank holiday looked doubtful owing to electrical problems with our bus. We thank the dear Lord that it was fixed in a timely manner.

Prayer Clock Update
Thank you for all your continued prayer support. There are still empty time slots needing to be filled. We would appreciate prayer for all the venues that we visit including the shows that we attend throughout the year. If you feel that you would like to take a prayer time slot then please contact Dave Sibley on 854903 or email. dave_lin@hotmail.co.uk. Having full time prayer is greatly needed and it is a vital part of the work we do.

Don’t Give Up
This time of year for me is always full of promise. We see in nature new growth and new life being created. The thrill of sowing seeds and seeing the little seedlings popping up is a great joy. Again the scriptural promise is being fulfilled that “seed time and harvest will continue while the earth remains”. We are also reminded that the Church was given birth at Pentecost by the promised Holy Spirit. We are commanded to go and share our faith in the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. There has always been opposition but this should not deter us. New life in Christ Jesus, the salvation of our souls is the most precious gift we can receive. We must not give up praying for those who need the gospel. There is great rejoicing in heaven when someone is “born again” may we be faithful in sharing our faith.
Every blessing Roy

Sharing the Word
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” 2Timothy 3 : 16 KJV.
The Church and all the saints of God everywhere need the truth of God’s word. Lost souls certainly need to hear God’s word. Satan has tried to bar it, burn it, banish it or even add to it but cannot remove it’s influence on this earth.
As the bus team talk and share the good news from the scriptures, we are amazed at some of the odd interpretations and responses to the word of God, which in all reality the deceits have been sown by the enemy himself. Even believers can be deceived into false doctrine and be lead away from believing that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and eternal life. We will by God’s grace continue to share the truth of the Gospel and trust in the power of God, for we know that at the final outcome Jesus will triumph.
Bernard Penney -Trustee

Looking to Jesus
There are often times when we all reflect on our lives, looking back and comparing where we are now. So many changes have shaped the course of our lives. We also may ponder as to what shape the future may unfold as it is an unchartered course. There is a well known hymn that says “Whatever my lot thou hast taught me to say; “It is well with my soul.”
“Whatever waters we face, whether calm or storm, we know that we have a faithful Saviour who gave Himself for us and is in the boat of life with us. He is the same yesterday, today and forever and doesn’t change with circumstances or the seasons. He never abandons His own! ‘Even if we are too weak to hang on to Jesus, He is strong enough to hang on to us. Even though we may not be able to face tomorrow, Jesus has already passed through death to the other side and has taken away death’s sting for us.’ – Michael Horton.
We know in our hearts that there is no room for pride in thinking we can make our own way without Him and trusting in His word. We may feel that we are inadequate or on the other extreme thinking that God cannot use us and we are no good to Him. Christian, be encouraged that our dear Father has not finished with you and has promised to complete the work He has begun. The Lord has set His seal on you in love and adopted you into His heavenly family. No going back! Each of His blood bought ones are a walking miracle of grace. Hallejuah! What a precious Lord we serve.
We are looking forward to the summer shows at Chale and Wolverton Manor. We have just been to the Bembridge street fair and the Lord kindly provided a lovely day for sowing His gospel. We press on to another season the Lord willing, “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” -Hebrews 12:2.

May the Lord bless each of you and your loved ones – the Team & Trustees.

Greetings
I’m writing this looking out of the kitchen window at all the birds feeding, sparrows, blue tits, starlings and now a gold finch, what a beautiful little bird with fantastic plumage. Praise the Lord! The sun is now shining on the dogwood. That lovely crimson red colour reminds me of this time of year when one day in “His- tory”, that another piece of wood was coloured with crimson – that blessed cross of Calvary. What an unspeakable act of Love! This another wonderful act of God’s blessing, in that He should choose to save us, feed us, protect us and give us breath every day so that we may enjoy Him and all that He has created.
For me to take up the cross and witness to His Glory with my brothers is a most humbling experience, for I know what I am! So, I thank the dear Lord for His sovereign divine mercy and plenteous Grace. Showers of blessings be yours this Easter.
God Bless, Mick.
Easter is fast approaching and many of us will be reflecting on the price that was paid to redeem us from our sins by our Lord Jesus Christ. It cost Him dear! I often think about that moment when Jesus was separated from His father bearing our sins on the cross. He had never known a separation from His father until now on the cross and so He cried out “My God, my God why have you forsaken me.” We who trust in Jesus will never need to experience that separation for ourselves, for it is by grace that we are saved. Why should Jesus the perfect one have taken our place? The scripture says “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life” John 3:16. May this Easter be for us all a time to reflect and to give thanks for God’s most precious gift the salvation of our souls.

Every blessing, Roy.

Christmas Greetings
I would like to thank all of you who have supported us in prayer, giving and fellowship again this year. We thank the Lord that we were able to finish all the shows and are now looking forward to the greatest event the world has ever known. This was when a young girl presented a Saviour to the world, what a wonderful present from a loving God all wrapped in clothes John 3v16 “for God so loved”, He gave the world the greatest present. ”For Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”, that’s all of us. For those of us who have accepted this present there is an indescribable wonderment of his birth, a joy that washes over the soul and a peace out of this world. The Westminster shorter catechism asks the question: What is the chief end of man? – The answer: ‘man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever’. It only becomes a gift if we accept the present. Let us join with the heavenly hosts and the shepherds in praising God and giving Him glory. Then let us spread the word that we have read concerning this child. Thank God for the precious GIFT of salvation.
Peace and Joy to you all. Mick and Annie

Memories of Christmas Past
When I was a young man I used to play in the local Salvation Army band. Christmas time was always special as we would go around Newport, visit the hospitals and play all the traditional carols. We were always warmly received and it was a good time to share about God’s most precious gift of His Son Jesus Christ. Christmas then was not so commercialised as it is today where the true meaning of the season has been lost or hidden for most people.
It is astonishing that God out of His mercy and love has made a way for us “sinners” to be reconciled to Himself through the death, resurrection and ascension of His Son Jesus Christ to give us a personal relationship now and for all eternity. For many of us who are older, we can be tempted to look back and reflect on the past as better than it was, but no matter how long we live on this earth our dear Saviour will remain close to us. He is the gift that we should value above all others.
Have a blessed Christmas, Roy.

“Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed “Romans 9 verse 33 – GNB

With winter comes the dark and cold evenings, but we would extend a warm welcome to you should you want to visit the bus in your location. Come and have a cup of tea and meet Mike and the team. All are very welcome.
Have a truly blessed Christmas.

With Christmas approaching
I look back on my life and think of all those moments that made Christmas such a special time. I can remember being in a nativity play at school, playing one of the wise men, and also seeing my own children in the school plays. There is something magical hearing young children singing those carols we all sang as children. Nativity plays are a wonderful way to share the word of God. That wonderful gift, carried in the womb of a virgin, as Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 (NKJV) “ Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel”.
Jesus said “I am the light of the world”, and he is, in this dark fallen world that gets darker every day. That truly wonderful gift was born for us, how appropriate that the” Lamb of God” was born in a stable. Let’s give thanks for the best gift anyone can be given, and let us all think of the lonely, bereaved, addicted, homeless and all those in distress this Christmas.
Every blessing – Richard.
May the Lord’s grace be with you and your loved ones.

Have a very Happy Christmas and a blessed New Year – The Team and Trustees.

Greetings to you all, Once again, the Lord has blessed us with beautiful weather and the opportunity to share our faith at the Chale show and we continue to meet up with like minded people. The other night on the bus in Ryde, a lovely family from Sheffield came to catch up. They were here on holiday and it was a real blessing. We met some 12 years ago at Chale and our fellowship has been ongoing through our newsletters, so Praise the Lord for their kindness in stopping to say hello and for the invitation to join their fellowship if we should find ourselves in Sheffield. May the Lord bless them. The other Friday night a young man came round to the bus on his 39th birthday and told us he was 16 when he first met with Paul and me on the bus. It’s not easy being out 5 nights a week but what a blessing and comfort when people take the time to catch up. Also, another lady from the past came in and quoted John 10 v 10 to us. She was only young when we first met, but bless the Lord His word is in her heart. So, now we are getting ready for another show. I pray the Lord will have mercy on the weather and allow us to accomplish our purpose to present His Love, Grace and Mercy through Our Lord Jesus Christ to whoever will listen. Love Mick.
At the Chale show recently, I personally had a lovely weekend with the team. Father commanded a ‘cracking’ weekend weather wise. The girls worked so hard face painting, and as usual, tracts were handed out. As I looked around at this beautiful place I saw the dear Lord. I saw fields, flowers, trees and numerous other beautiful things and creatures that all point to Jesus, who made all things. Genesis 1:1 says that “God created the heavens and the earth.” Then, Colossians 1:16 gives the added detail that God created “all things” through Jesus Christ. The plain teaching of Scripture, therefore, is that Jesus is the Creator of the universe. There were a few opportunities to speak with people at Chale, and to throw seeds around. A preacher once said,” All we can do is put the word to the ear; only the Lord can take the word from the ear to the heart”. It’s important that we all share our faith if the opportunity arises, be it Chale or the bus stop, as Acts 1:8 tells us to. Faith is not the product of a preacher’s compelling presentation, his eloquence, or even his theological soundness—faith is given through the message about Jesus. This is the means God has chosen. Every blessing, Richard.

‘Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.’ – John 3: 18.
This summer we have been busy sharing the word of God with visitors on the Bus and it is always a rewarding experience. We often have times when we share readings from the Bible as we are lead. There are times when the truth from God’s word is not always well received even by believers. People can become very angry at Jesus’ own words see the text as above, and will not accept the possibility that someone they care for may be condemned unless they are saved. This is the effect often of God’s word where it challenges our own ideas of fairness over His truth. It is not always easy but we can only share the truth in love when explaining the gospel. Many often try to trust in their own good works, goodness, and qualities or even possessions. This seems worthy and right in our thinking but cannot satisfy. Being right with God, can only come by believing in Jesus Christ as God’s Son as the only way to peace and eternal life. The message is shared prayerfully and we look to take people through the word and kindly reveal the reality of their need.
The evenings are starting to gradually draw in again, but we will continue, the dear Lord willing, to go out and share the gospel. – Bernard.

Lost
I recently lost my mobile phone. I searched ‘high and low,’ checked with the authorities and double checked to no avail. Not only did losing the phone cause me inconvenience and time, but I also had to replace it. It seems that we are most concerned when it affects us. We have all lost something from time to time and in Luke 15 Jesus told the parable of the lost sheep. The shepherd in this case found the sheep that had gone astray. ‘The Good shepherd’ found us, but what about those who are lost? Do we care enough about them to share the “gospel”. Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost! Every blessing – Roy.

‘Pleasant words are a honeycomb sweet to the soul and healing to the bones’- Proverbs 16 vrs 24.

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
Easter seems a long way off now, but the memory is still sweet.
We had a wonderful time, probably the most blessed ever, as there were many opportunities to share the “Good news”. The Lord graciously fulfilled His word, “Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners” and this He did.
It seemed for a short while that the walk of the cross would not take place owing to illness two weeks previous. We thank the dear Lord for strengthening us by His precious word.
We are now looking forward to our time of teaching with Paul Carter and the forthcoming summer shows “God willing”.
Have a blessed summer and maybe we will see you at the shows.
Every blessing Mick and Anne

Like Mick, thinking of our Easter witness, we were much encouraged on Good Friday by the walk of witness joining with us for a time in St James Square Newport. It is so good when we are able to join together to honour our dear Lord in this way. There is no better time than at Easter to witness publically for the Lord.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity
It is like the precious ointment on the head that ran down on the beard, Aaron’s beard, that went down to the mouth of his garments; like the dew of Hermon that came down on the mountains of Zion; for there Jehovah commanded the blessing, life forevermore’ -Psalm 133 .
Thank you for all the prayer and financial support we receive on this journey together.
Every blessing Roy

By the grace of God, we enjoyed a wonderful Easter week and were glad to carry the cross as a witness once again. On Good Friday we also were able to spend time at St James’ Square, Newport, for street witness, with song, sketch board & tracts. There were a good number of con-versations during this time with passersby and we hope many will think about the faith. It was also a joy to spend some time with the Newport walk of witness as their team came through the square and stopped to join in some hymns with us.
Every blessing Nigel

We look forward to receiving Paul once more for the first of 3 weekends this year as detailed below. The teaching event is on Friday evening & Saturday morning. You might ask what happens on the Godpod?
We take the bus out for 5 nights most weeks to towns as shown below:

Mondays 7pm – Ryde Western gardens (Ryde Esplanade)
Tuesdays 7pm – Freshwater Moa Place Car Park
Wednesdays 7pm – Wroxall Station Road Car Park
Thursdays 7pm – Shanklin Main Co-op Side Car Park
Fridays 6pm – Newport Church Litten Car Park

The ministry started in 1994 in Newport and the witness has been mainly to young people although we include all who come to the bus. The questions asked vary and some put us on the spot, but we always endeavour to give an honest answer. Some ask about our initials JCWGVA or about the pictures on the bus. This gives us an opportunity to share the gospel in a sensitive manner. We are not in the numbers game, but we rejoice when a decision for Christ is made.
We have been called to be seed sowers and it is a privilege to do this. We are often encouraged by our fellow Christians who visit or acknowledge us when they pass by. We know that the person we represent the Lord Jesus Christ is not welcomed by many and so we expect a negative response to the gospel. We thank God that for the time being we have the liberty to share but who knows how long for? As you will understand it can be a challenging work mentally & spiritually but worth it, every minute. Glory to Jesus the risen one who loves us eternally and gave himself for us!
Please pray for all involved throughout our country who preach the gospel regularly.

Update on events
We have recently attended the Bembridge Street fayre on the May bank holiday. This event was well attended. We set our book stall out and our ladies were engaged with face painting. This, along with some seed sowing and the visual witness of the bus vehicle, added up to a time well spent. The Lord willing, we are still on course to set up at two of the summer shows – Chale Show on Sat1st & Sun 2nd August; Wolverton Manor Sat 29th & Sun 30th August.

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” – Colossians 1: 13, 14.

Greetings
” How fast the time is going” we hear people say.
Job7:6 “My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle.”
It seems not so long ago we were busy preparing to celebrate the birth of our dear Lord and here we are now with the preparations to celebrate His death and glorious resurrection.
God has an appointed time for a person to come to Him.
This was the case the other day we were asked by a brother to speak to a person, because they were concerned about sin in their life. They were so keen to repent before a Holy God and invite the Lord Jesus Christ into their life (John15:16).
What a transformation going from death to life, suddenly having a love for God’s word, being changed on the inside, experiencing floods of joy. ‘O my soul like the sea billows roll since Jesus came into my life’.
Even though this person suffers greatly they could still experience the joy and peace that came upon them (priceless).
We were able to give them a Bible which was one of the many donated by a brother and it’s great to see they have a hunger for God’s word – (names are not important).
“I will sing the wondrous story of the Christ who died for me” (us).
Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:”
We are so grateful to the many people who support us with their time, talent and treasure.
May the Lord richly bless you this Easter.
Love from the Team.

Thoughts from the team
Hebrews 4 verse 12 – “The word of God is alive and active sharper than any two edged sword…”
The Word of God is not only wonderful, but also very powerful. The main task of the Godpod is to share the bible each evening to callers who come on board. We find sometimes people are very happy in their sins and resent the true word of love, joy and eternal life. People will seek and enjoy our company but would rather Jesus wasn’t brought into things!
We are never discouraged and we know that Satan has a lot of sway but we keep on sowing the seed of truth in all parts of this lovely island that God created. We pray that one day this seed will bring forth fruit so the unsaved will be redeemed and have eternal life.
– Bernard Penney (Trustee)

Easter Reflections
Hebrews 12 vrs 2. ” Looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross , despising the shame, and sat down at the right of the throne of God. “ – NKJV.
This statement is absolutely incredible that our Lord Jesus Christ was prepared to die for us and had counted it for joy that was set before Him. We can never fully appreciate what it cost Him or imagine the suffering and separation from God as he was bearing our sin. It is with a thankful heart that He deserves our worship and devoted service. May this Easter be a time of reflection and great joy.
Mr A W Pink said “Taking up my cross means a life voluntarily surrendered to God”.
Happy Easter – Roy.

Notice of Annual General Meeting
The AGM will be held at Wayfarers Fellowship Chapel Castle Street Carisbrooke at 2.30pm on Tuesday 21st April 2015. All are welcome.

“ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures” – 1 Corinthians 15: 3, 4.

“…..He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” – Acts 17: 31.

Word from Mick
We are coming to the end of a very eventful year but we can draw strength. The Lord said “I will never leave or forsake you,” of course if He is dwelling in our hearts; if not, He won’t.
This week is just a little bit colder and mr robin appeared with his bright red waistcoat on and the little family of sparrows and starlings, also mr and mrs blackbird singing away. What a thrill it is to the soul, they greet me because I feed them and in turn give me great pleasure in song and friendship.
And would you believe there’s a little wild primrose looking up at me? “Praise the Lord.”
I am reminded of this-
“Said the robin to the sparrow,
I should really like to know,
Why these anxious human beings
rush about and worry so”
“Said the sparrow to the robin,
Friend, I think that it must be,
They have no Heavenly Father such
as cares for you and me. (E.CHENEY)

Psalm 84v3 & Mathew 10v29 – And the dear Lord sustains us all.
The Lord Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners! I’m so glad He did.
May the dear Lord be a present in your family gatherings this Christmas. May our song be one of praise and thanks giving to our Redeemers’ love.

Thoughts from the team
I often at this time of the year reflect on the story written by Charles Dickens whose infamous main character, one Ebenezer Scrooge appears in “A Christmas Carol”. He is shown to be mean and hard hearted, lacking in any compassion and his sole purpose was to make money at any cost. We are taken through his three visitations showing him his past, his present, and then his future if his heart was not changed. The moment in this story that I always treasure is when Ebenezer has that change of heart and becomes a generous and compassionate man. Christmas reminds us that we all have a past, a present and a future. In Christ Jesus our past is forgiven, our present can be changed into His likeness and our future hope is to spend eternity with Him forever. Jesus is God’s greatest gift, may we truly know that He is our Saviour and Lord.
Every blessing to you and your families.
– Roy (treasurer)

Come, everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters, and you without money come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why do you spend money on what is not food, and your wages on what does not satisfy. Listen carefully to me and eat what is good and you will enjoy the choicest of foods. Pay attention and come to me, listen, so that you will have life. –
Isaiah 55: 1- 3.
The above verses of the Holy Bible sum up perfectly the work of the Godbus as it goes out every weeknight with volunteers and shares these words of wisdom with islanders. It is fitting at this time of year as we scurry from shop to shop trying to buy presents to realise that there is a FREE gift available of eternal life. If only we throw off the chains that bind us and believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
– Bernard Penney (Trustee)

‘And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…’ – John 1: 14.

We have been reminded recently with the Black Friday sales how things can get so out of hand and with the focus on getting stuff before others – a stark reminder of our human condition. Of course finding a right present for loved ones is special to us. Sometimes it takes some searching to find the gifts that represent that persons likes and personality. Jesus was brought three presents that reflected who He is, by the wise men all those years ago – Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. We are reminded that the new born babe was the King of the ages who took on our frailty. Also that He would exchange that cradle for a cross of shame and the bed of straw for a crown of thorns. The Dear Lord offered Himself as an offering for our sin once for all and in love willingly took our place, surrendering Himself to death on the cross.
The scriptures refer to the Lord Jesus Christ as the ‘indescribable gift’ 2 Corinthians 9: 15. He gave us Himself when we could contribute nothing except the sin that made His sacrifice necessary.
Often this time of year we reflect on the things that have happened where circumstances and loss have taken their toll. Life changes and unknown challenges assail many. We as God’s people are not exempt from heartache, pain and suffering. We pray that God would lift you up in your time of need if you are facing such times as these and bring you the comfort as only He can.

We pray that you will have a most blessed Christmas and a very Happy New Year

May the Lord’s grace abide with you and your loved ones – The Team and Trustees.

“‘Not called!’ did you say? ‘Not heard the call,’ I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father’s house and bid their brothers and sisters, and servants and masters not to come there. And then look Christ in the face, whose mercy you have professed to obey, and tell him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish his mercy to the world.” – William Booth.

Word from Mick
“We have the truth and we need not be afraid to say so,” – JC Ryle.
I would like to share with you the goodness and kindness of our Lord. A little while ago we had to find a new home to park the bus (Godpod). Carisbrooke priory has kindly let us park on their grounds. A hard standing had to be made which involved digger work, hard core, gate and posts etc.
There was a contractor working down the road doing a driveway. I asked him how much type one hard core would cost per tonne. He asked me what it was for and so I shared my faith with him (Acts 1: 8) and about what we do on the bus. He said that he would donate the hard core. The same thing happened with the digger and gate posts. The Lord said He will supply your needs and He has. It is a great encouragement to us when the Lord builds. We don’t labour in vain and it was a very gracious answer to prayer. “Who is there like our God?”
Every Blessing, Mick.

Summer Outreach at the Shows
The shows are a wonderful opportunity to meet people and share the good news in a non-confrontational way. Seeing the faces of the young children having their faces painted and the joy this brings cannot be measured. We gave out to the parents and guardians a flyer and tracks on leaving our marquee. Where appropriate we would share with those who want to know more about the Christian faith. We did sell a little “bric-a-brac” and had a mixture of books, Christian and other subjects for people to take. We also had a table with wristbands, book marks and other Christian materials and these were used as an opener for conversations.
Our main purpose as always is to honour the Lord Jesus Christ. Working as a team it is so essential that we all play our part. This is so true of the Church today, that we work and witness together with Jesus Christ as our Head this surely is our calling as believers.
Thank you to those who provided our pitches and made us welcome at Chale and Wolverton Manor.
Thanks also to St James Church, Ryde for inviting us to come and share at a mid-week meeting about the work of the Godpod and to share in Christian fellowship.

‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved,.. – Ephesians 1: 3-6.

‘Seeing then that we have a Great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathise with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace in our time of need.’ – Hebrews 4: 14-16.

Greetings in the Lord,
Easter seems a long way off now, but this year four of us walked the cross and what a blessed time it was, I thank all those who gave their time, treasure and talent in allowing all of us to bring glory to God our Father through the Lord Jesus Christ in the unity of the Holy Spirit.
The next celebration is Pentecost in the churches calendar, but surely to the born again, Pentecost is every day. I take a quote from the great Mr Spurgeon,
‘O gracious Spirit to be ruled and governed by thine divine authority, so that nothing false or sinful may reign in our hearts, least it extend its malignant influence to our daily walk with men, that we may see many added to our numbers for the glory of heaven’s sake.’
As the song goes,
‘…To tell of the Christ who died for us,…’
Every Blessing, Mick.

Prayer
We know well that there is no mission without prayer, which God has ordained for His people as Christ’s ambassadors, namely, every blood purchased child of God. What part of life; which part of the world is not included under the need of this calling?
Prayer is the bedrock for the great spiritual battlefield that we are engaged in, from our own daily walk, our families, and the work of the gospel in the mission field far and near. We know through the word, that God works through the continual fervent prayer of His covenant people in this world, according to His will. What an ultimate privilege it remains that we can approach the throne of grace corporately and in our individual closet, drawing near to God in the Spirit.

If today you are feeling weak, and pressed down by circumstances and the world, then we encourage you not to lose heart but sit at the Master’s feet yet still. Cast your burdens there as you cannot carry them, but He can and has. It is Christ’s victory and power that we stand in. Also God the Father will not turn away His elect who cry out to Him continually. Bless the Lord!

‘The great antidote to anxiety is to come to God in prayer. We are to pray about everything. Nothing is too big for Him to handle and nothing too small to escape His attention.’ – Jerry Bridges.

Update
We are thankful to the dear Lord for His provision in that we have a new place to keep the Godpod bus. Our thanks also go to the trustees at Carisbrooke Priory for making the grounds available for this purpose and for storage. We have had to move location due to development of the original parking place that was available through the kindness of a local business.
This year there have been a number of faults with the vehicle, so it has meant being off the streets far more than expected. We however press on and seek to be out again as soon as it is possible, “God willing”. It does seem strange not being out in the evenings at present.
In one way it teaches us that we are not indispensable, but God uses those who are available to Him and any work is not worth anything unless the Lord is in it! We however continue to seek God’s guidance as to His leading and purpose. We do thank God for His provision and calling that He lays on our hearts for Christian witness on our streets. The burden we have is always to share the knowledge that Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost and this is the motivation in which we stand. He saved us and made Himself known when we were lost and hostile to His loving-kindness in unbelief. I read a quote very recently that says it another way,

‘God just doesn’t throw a life preserver to a drowning person. He goes to the bottom of the sea and pulls a corpse from the bottom of the sea, takes him up on the bank, breathes into him the breath of life and makes him alive.’ – RC Sproul.

The Lord willing, we look forward to seeing friends old and new at the summer shows through-out August.

May the Lord’s grace abide with you and your loved ones.

Update from Mick & Anne
We look forward at this time of the year to celebrating the Risen Lord at Easter time.
I thank the Lord for his goodness and kindness towards me at a time when I needed Him most. I also thank everyone who were praying for me and all seems to be well once again with no lasting effects. So we pick ourselves up and start again always trusting in Him and His kindness and faithfulness. Every Blessing – Annie.

Easter is fast approaching and what a lovely time it is. I was watching a little Jenny Wren darting about looking for food, a Robin and a Blackbird. God’s creation is coming to life, the trees are budding their life flow moving. It all made me think of the life given us in the Lord Jesus. His first bed was of straw and those wrinkled hands soon became calloused in Joseph’s wood working shop. He loved the countryside touching individuals, preaching to crowds and training twelve blokes to carry on His work. He was hounded on every side by religious leaders, seeking to rid the world of His influence, then finally falsely accused, tried and condemned to a disgraceful execution by foreign hands.
He died, was spat on, cursed, pierced by nails and hung heaven ward for all to deride. He ransomed His life that we might live! At God’s appointed time the risen, ascended Lord Jesus Christ will burst onto the world scene. Everyone will know that Jesus is the Lord of the universe. Those who love Him will greet Him with hearts overflowing with joy and praise but those who don’t know Him will be terrified. That’s why we carry the cross around the Island, to bring hope to those that other wise would perish.
May the dear Lord raise us above our circumstances to love and serve Him.
The blessing of Easter be yours – Mick.

The Gift of Prayer
Recently I had the shock of being told that I needed to have a vital operation or face ending up in a wheelchair! On what I thought was a routine appointment over SGH, I was told that I needed an operation on my back the following morning. On hearing this I was in a state of shock and after some discussion with the specialists with my wife Lin, I was admitted for the op the following morning. My family phoned around and got some prayer going for me. I can honestly say that I was scared. I prayed for the Lord’s strength to help me through the next few days. I knew that a lot of people were praying for my family and me. The morning of the operation I was praying and asking the Lord to protect my mind during the procedure. As I was wheeled into theatre, I was greeted by the anaesthetist who was a lady who I knew from our church. I knew then that the Lord was indeed watching over me. Later that evening I was in intensive care and she came and sat with me holding my hand praying for me. I told her the Lord had answered my prayers. I urge you all to keep praying, as it is a most powerful thing we have. The Lord Jesus is there for us all and we all need to put our trust in Him. He gave up His life for us, so that is our greatest reason to spend time in prayer. God Bless – Dave, Lin, Ayden, Shannon & Megan.

Word from Heather
I have now been a Trustee/Secretary for quite a few years for the God Bus, but have never actually been out on the bus. I feel it must be quite hard for the team after having probably a hard day, to turn out in all weathers, especially on the dark nights of winter when they could be at home in the warm. I know each one of them goes out because they love the Lord and want to see young and old alike come to know Jesus as their own Saviour. I feel that it is very important to back them up with our prayers, which makes an awful lot of difference. Situations on the bus can become difficult on occasions, but the joy when someone comes to know Jesus as their Saviour is worth all the aggro that they have to put up with at times. So, please remember in your prayers the members of the team as they go out at night, and the Trustees that they make the right decisions regarding the running of the bus.
Heather

Note from Roy
Life has its ups and downs, it’s joys and sorrows, it’s trials and testing. Whatever we are facing the Lord has promised to “Never leave us or forsake us” – a faithful saying we can fully rely on! It is often through life’s difficulties that we learn to lean on the Lord. This year so far has been a more intense time of testing for us as an outreach. Several members are dealing with health issues and other problems. We know it is only by God’s grace that we will overcome and that He is able to “work together for good” His purpose in it all. Do pray for us as we seek the Lord’s direction. Thank you for your support and interest – Roy.

Looking ahead
Easter is drawing very close once again and as an outreach continuing with the walking of the cross around the island. If you would like to know more about this or interested in joining us for a leg of the journey then call any of the numbers shown on this newsletter. The days and times also can be found on our website www.godpod.org.uk. This starts on Sunday 13/4/14 until Thursday 17/4/14 and then on the Friday meeting for open-air witness in St James Square, Newport.

We look forward also to Paul Carter joining us again for teaching and speaking engagements. The dates can also be found on the website. The first weekend this year commences with Friday 28th March 7.30pm and then Saturday 29th March 9.30am at Lake Green Mission, Percy Road, Lake. On Sunday 30th March, Paul will be speaking at St Paul’s Church, Shanklin 10.30am and Lake Green Mission 6.30pm.

May the Lord’s grace abide with you and your loved ones – The Team and Trustees.
