‘Pleasant words are a honeycomb sweet to the soul and healing to the bones’- Proverbs 16 vrs 24.

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
Easter seems a long way off now, but the memory is still sweet.
We had a wonderful time, probably the most blessed ever, as there were many opportunities to share the “Good news”. The Lord graciously fulfilled His word, “Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners” and this He did.
It seemed for a short while that the walk of the cross would not take place owing to illness two weeks previous. We thank the dear Lord for strengthening us by His precious word.
We are now looking forward to our time of teaching with Paul Carter and the forthcoming summer shows “God willing”.
Have a blessed summer and maybe we will see you at the shows.
Every blessing Mick and Anne

Like Mick, thinking of our Easter witness, we were much encouraged on Good Friday by the walk of witness joining with us for a time in St James Square Newport. It is so good when we are able to join together to honour our dear Lord in this way. There is no better time than at Easter to witness publically for the Lord.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity
It is like the precious ointment on the head that ran down on the beard, Aaron’s beard, that went down to the mouth of his garments; like the dew of Hermon that came down on the mountains of Zion; for there Jehovah commanded the blessing, life forevermore’ -Psalm 133 .
Thank you for all the prayer and financial support we receive on this journey together.
Every blessing Roy

By the grace of God, we enjoyed a wonderful Easter week and were glad to carry the cross as a witness once again. On Good Friday we also were able to spend time at St James’ Square, Newport, for street witness, with song, sketch board & tracts. There were a good number of con-versations during this time with passersby and we hope many will think about the faith. It was also a joy to spend some time with the Newport walk of witness as their team came through the square and stopped to join in some hymns with us.
Every blessing Nigel

Teaching Weekend – Paul Carter
We look forward to receiving Paul once more for the first of 3 weekends this year as detailed below. The teaching event is on Friday evening & Saturday morning. On the Sunday these are scheduled preaching engagements. Dates for September & November can be seen on our website www.godpod.org.uk. Anyone is welcome to come and join with us. For more information please phone one of the team.
– Friday 26/06/2015 7.30pm Lake Green Mission, Percy Road, Lake.
– Saturday 27/06/2015 9.30am Lake Green Mission, Percy Road, Lake.
– Sunday 28/06/2015 11.00am Bethany Church, Union Street, Newport.
– Sunday 28/6/2015 6.30pm Lake Green Mission, Percy Road, Lake.

You might ask what happens on the Godpod?
We take the bus out for 5 nights most weeks to towns as shown below:

Mondays 7pm – Ryde Western gardens (Ryde Esplanade)
Tuesdays 7pm – Freshwater Moa Place Car Park
Wednesdays 7pm – Wroxall Station Road Car Park
Thursdays 7pm – Shanklin Main Co-op Side Car Park
Fridays 6pm – Newport Church Litten Car Park

The ministry started in 1994 in Newport and the witness has been mainly to young people although we include all who come to the bus. The questions asked vary and some put us on the spot, but we always endeavour to give an honest answer. Some ask about our initials JCWGVA or about the pictures on the bus. This gives us an opportunity to share the gospel in a sensitive manner. We are not in the numbers game, but we rejoice when a decision for Christ is made.
We have been called to be seed sowers and it is a privilege to do this. We are often encouraged by our fellow Christians who visit or acknowledge us when they pass by. We know that the person we represent the Lord Jesus Christ is not welcomed by many and so we expect a negative response to the gospel. We thank God that for the time being we have the liberty to share but who knows how long for? As you will understand it can be a challenging work mentally & spiritually but worth it, every minute. Glory to Jesus the risen one who loves us eternally and gave himself for us!
Please pray for all involved throughout our country who preach the gospel regularly.

Update on events
We have recently attended the Bembridge Street fayre on the May bank holiday. This event was well attended. We set our book stall out and our ladies were engaged with face painting. This, along with some seed sowing and the visual witness of the bus vehicle, added up to a time well spent. The Lord willing, we are still on course to set up at two of the summer shows – Chale Show on Sat1st & Sun 2nd August; Wolverton Manor Sat 29th & Sun 30th August.

May the Lord’s grace be with you and your loved ones – The Team and Trustees.

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” – Colossians 1: 13, 14.

Greetings
” How fast the time is going” we hear people say.
Job7:6 “My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle.”
It seems not so long ago we were busy preparing to celebrate the birth of our dear Lord and here we are now with the preparations to celebrate His death and glorious resurrection.
God has an appointed time for a person to come to Him.
This was the case the other day we were asked by a brother to speak to a person, because they were concerned about sin in their life. They were so keen to repent before a Holy God and invite the Lord Jesus Christ into their life (John15:16).
What a transformation going from death to life, suddenly having a love for God’s word, being changed on the inside, experiencing floods of joy. ‘O my soul like the sea billows roll since Jesus came into my life’.
Even though this person suffers greatly they could still experience the joy and peace that came upon them (priceless).
We were able to give them a Bible which was one of the many donated by a brother and it’s great to see they have a hunger for God’s word – (names are not important).
“I will sing the wondrous story of the Christ who died for me” (us).
Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:”
We are so grateful to the many people who support us with their time, talent and treasure.
May the Lord richly bless you this Easter.
Love from the Team.

Thoughts from the team
Hebrews 4 verse 12 – “The word of God is alive and active sharper than any two edged sword…”
The Word of God is not only wonderful, but also very powerful. The main task of the Godpod is to share the bible each evening to callers who come on board. We find sometimes people are very happy in their sins and resent the true word of love, joy and eternal life. People will seek and enjoy our company but would rather Jesus wasn’t brought into things!
We are never discouraged and we know that Satan has a lot of sway but we keep on sowing the seed of truth in all parts of this lovely island that God created. We pray that one day this seed will bring forth fruit so the unsaved will be redeemed and have eternal life.
– Bernard Penney (Trustee)

Easter Reflections
Hebrews 12 vrs 2. ” Looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross , despising the shame, and sat down at the right of the throne of God. “ – NKJV.
This statement is absolutely incredible that our Lord Jesus Christ was prepared to die for us and had counted it for joy that was set before Him. We can never fully appreciate what it cost Him or imagine the suffering and separation from God as he was bearing our sin. It is with a thankful heart that He deserves our worship and devoted service. May this Easter be a time of reflection and great joy.
Mr A W Pink said “Taking up my cross means a life voluntarily surrendered to God”.
Happy Easter – Roy.

Notice of Annual General Meeting
The AGM will be held at Wayfarers Fellowship Chapel Castle Street Carisbrooke at 2.30pm on Tuesday 21st April 2015. All are welcome.

“ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures” – 1 Corinthians 15: 3, 4.

Word from Mick
We are coming to the end of a very eventful year but we can draw strength. The Lord said “I will never leave or forsake you,” of course if He is dwelling in our hearts; if not, He won’t.
This week is just a little bit colder and mr robin appeared with his bright red waistcoat on and the little family of sparrows and starlings, also mr and mrs blackbird singing away. What a thrill it is to the soul, they greet me because I feed them and in turn give me great pleasure in song and friendship.
And would you believe there’s a little wild primrose looking up at me? “Praise the Lord.”
I am reminded of this-
“Said the robin to the sparrow,
I should really like to know,
Why these anxious human beings
rush about and worry so”
“Said the sparrow to the robin,
Friend, I think that it must be,
They have no Heavenly Father such
as cares for you and me. (E.CHENEY)

Psalm 84v3 & Mathew 10v29 – And the dear Lord sustains us all.
The Lord Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners! I’m so glad He did.
May the dear Lord be a present in your family gatherings this Christmas. May our song be one of praise and thanks giving to our Redeemers’ love.

Thoughts from the team
I often at this time of the year reflect on the story written by Charles Dickens whose infamous main character, one Ebenezer Scrooge appears in “A Christmas Carol”. He is shown to be mean and hard hearted, lacking in any compassion and his sole purpose was to make money at any cost. We are taken through his three visitations showing him his past, his present, and then his future if his heart was not changed. The moment in this story that I always treasure is when Ebenezer has that change of heart and becomes a generous and compassionate man. Christmas reminds us that we all have a past, a present and a future. In Christ Jesus our past is forgiven, our present can be changed into His likeness and our future hope is to spend eternity with Him forever. Jesus is God’s greatest gift, may we truly know that He is our Saviour and Lord.
Every blessing to you and your families.
– Roy (treasurer)

Come, everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters, and you without money come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why do you spend money on what is not food, and your wages on what does not satisfy. Listen carefully to me and eat what is good and you will enjoy the choicest of foods. Pay attention and come to me, listen, so that you will have life. –
Isaiah 55: 1- 3.
The above verses of the Holy Bible sum up perfectly the work of the Godbus as it goes out every weeknight with volunteers and shares these words of wisdom with islanders. It is fitting at this time of year as we scurry from shop to shop trying to buy presents to realise that there is a FREE gift available of eternal life. If only we throw off the chains that bind us and believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
– Bernard Penney (Trustee)

‘And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…’ – John 1: 14.

We have been reminded recently with the Black Friday sales how things can get so out of hand and with the focus on getting stuff before others – a stark reminder of our human condition. Of course finding a right present for loved ones is special to us. Sometimes it takes some searching to find the gifts that represent that persons likes and personality. Jesus was brought three presents that reflected who He is, by the wise men all those years ago – Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. We are reminded that the new born babe was the King of the ages who took on our frailty. Also that He would exchange that cradle for a cross of shame and the bed of straw for a crown of thorns. The Dear Lord offered Himself as an offering for our sin once for all and in love willingly took our place, surrendering Himself to death on the cross.
The scriptures refer to the Lord Jesus Christ as the ‘indescribable gift’ 2 Corinthians 9: 15. He gave us Himself when we could contribute nothing except the sin that made His sacrifice necessary.
Often this time of year we reflect on the things that have happened where circumstances and loss have taken their toll. Life changes and unknown challenges assail many. We as God’s people are not exempt from heartache, pain and suffering. We pray that God would lift you up in your time of need if you are facing such times as these and bring you the comfort as only He can.

We pray that you will have a most blessed Christmas and a very Happy New Year

May the Lord’s grace abide with you and your loved ones – The Team and Trustees.

“‘Not called!’ did you say? ‘Not heard the call,’ I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father’s house and bid their brothers and sisters, and servants and masters not to come there. And then look Christ in the face, whose mercy you have professed to obey, and tell him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish his mercy to the world.” – William Booth.

Word from Mick
“We have the truth and we need not be afraid to say so,” – JC Ryle.
I would like to share with you the goodness and kindness of our Lord. A little while ago we had to find a new home to park the bus (Godpod). Carisbrooke priory has kindly let us park on their grounds. A hard standing had to be made which involved digger work, hard core, gate and posts etc.
There was a contractor working down the road doing a driveway. I asked him how much type one hard core would cost per tonne. He asked me what it was for and so I shared my faith with him (Acts 1: 8) and about what we do on the bus. He said that he would donate the hard core. The same thing happened with the digger and gate posts. The Lord said He will supply your needs and He has. It is a great encouragement to us when the Lord builds. We don’t labour in vain and it was a very gracious answer to prayer. “Who is there like our God?”
Every Blessing, Mick.

Summer Outreach at the Shows
The shows are a wonderful opportunity to meet people and share the good news in a non-confrontational way. Seeing the faces of the young children having their faces painted and the joy this brings cannot be measured. We gave out to the parents and guardians a flyer and tracks on leaving our marquee. Where appropriate we would share with those who want to know more about the Christian faith. We did sell a little “bric-a-brac” and had a mixture of books, Christian and other subjects for people to take. We also had a table with wristbands, book marks and other Christian materials and these were used as an opener for conversations.
Our main purpose as always is to honour the Lord Jesus Christ. Working as a team it is so essential that we all play our part. This is so true of the Church today, that we work and witness together with Jesus Christ as our Head this surely is our calling as believers.
Thank you to those who provided our pitches and made us welcome at Chale and Wolverton Manor.
Thanks also to St James Church, Ryde for inviting us to come and share at a mid-week meeting about the work of the Godpod and to share in Christian fellowship.

‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved,.. – Ephesians 1: 3-6.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace in our time of need.’ – Hebrews 4: 14-16.

Greetings in the Lord,
Easter seems a long way off now, but this year four of us walked the cross and what a blessed time it was, I thank all those who gave their time, treasure and talent in allowing all of us to bring glory to God our Father through the Lord Jesus Christ in the unity of the Holy Spirit.
The next celebration is Pentecost in the churches calendar, but surely to the born again, Pentecost is every day. I take a quote from the great Mr Spurgeon,
‘O gracious Spirit to be ruled and governed by thine divine authority, so that nothing false or sinful may reign in our hearts, least it extend its malignant influence to our daily walk with men, that we may see many added to our numbers for the glory of heaven’s sake.’
As the song goes,
‘…To tell of the Christ who died for us,…’
Every Blessing, Mick.

Prayer
We know well that there is no mission without prayer, which God has ordained for His people as Christ’s ambassadors, namely, every blood purchased child of God. What part of life; which part of the world is not included under the need of this calling?
Prayer is the bedrock for the great spiritual battlefield that we are engaged in, from our own daily walk, our families, and the work of the gospel in the mission field far and near. We know through the word, that God works through the continual fervent prayer of His covenant people in this world, according to His will. What an ultimate privilege it remains that we can approach the throne of grace corporately and in our individual closet, drawing near to God in the Spirit.

If today you are feeling weak, and pressed down by circumstances and the world, then we encourage you not to lose heart but sit at the Master’s feet yet still. Cast your burdens there as you cannot carry them, but He can and has. It is Christ’s victory and power that we stand in. Also God the Father will not turn away His elect who cry out to Him continually. Bless the Lord!

‘The great antidote to anxiety is to come to God in prayer. We are to pray about everything. Nothing is too big for Him to handle and nothing too small to escape His attention.’ – Jerry Bridges.

Update
We are thankful to the dear Lord for His provision in that we have a new place to keep the Godpod bus. Our thanks also go to the trustees at Carisbrooke Priory for making the grounds available for this purpose and for storage. We have had to move location due to development of the original parking place that was available through the kindness of a local business.
This year there have been a number of faults with the vehicle, so it has meant being off the streets far more than expected. We however press on and seek to be out again as soon as it is possible, “God willing”. It does seem strange not being out in the evenings at present.
In one way it teaches us that we are not indispensable, but God uses those who are available to Him and any work is not worth anything unless the Lord is in it! We however continue to seek God’s guidance as to His leading and purpose. We do thank God for His provision and calling that He lays on our hearts for Christian witness on our streets. The burden we have is always to share the knowledge that Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost and this is the motivation in which we stand. He saved us and made Himself known when we were lost and hostile to His loving-kindness in unbelief. I read a quote very recently that says it another way,

‘God just doesn’t throw a life preserver to a drowning person. He goes to the bottom of the sea and pulls a corpse from the bottom of the sea, takes him up on the bank, breathes into him the breath of life and makes him alive.’ – RC Sproul.

The Lord willing, we look forward to seeing friends old and new at the summer shows through-out August.

Update from Mick & Anne
We look forward at this time of the year to celebrating the Risen Lord at Easter time.
I thank the Lord for his goodness and kindness towards me at a time when I needed Him most. I also thank everyone who were praying for me and all seems to be well once again with no lasting effects. So we pick ourselves up and start again always trusting in Him and His kindness and faithfulness. Every Blessing – Annie.

Easter is fast approaching and what a lovely time it is. I was watching a little Jenny Wren darting about looking for food, a Robin and a Blackbird. God’s creation is coming to life, the trees are budding their life flow moving. It all made me think of the life given us in the Lord Jesus. His first bed was of straw and those wrinkled hands soon became calloused in Joseph’s wood working shop. He loved the countryside touching individuals, preaching to crowds and training twelve blokes to carry on His work. He was hounded on every side by religious leaders, seeking to rid the world of His influence, then finally falsely accused, tried and condemned to a disgraceful execution by foreign hands.
He died, was spat on, cursed, pierced by nails and hung heaven ward for all to deride. He ransomed His life that we might live! At God’s appointed time the risen, ascended Lord Jesus Christ will burst onto the world scene. Everyone will know that Jesus is the Lord of the universe. Those who love Him will greet Him with hearts overflowing with joy and praise but those who don’t know Him will be terrified. That’s why we carry the cross around the Island, to bring hope to those that other wise would perish.
May the dear Lord raise us above our circumstances to love and serve Him.
The blessing of Easter be yours – Mick.

Recently I had the shock of being told that I needed to have a vital operation or face ending up in a wheelchair! On what I thought was a routine appointment over SGH, I was told that I needed an operation on my back the following morning. On hearing this I was in a state of shock and after some discussion with the specialists with my wife Lin, I was admitted for the op the following morning. My family phoned around and got some prayer going for me. I can honestly say that I was scared. I prayed for the Lord’s strength to help me through the next few days. I knew that a lot of people were praying for my family and me. The morning of the operation I was praying and asking the Lord to protect my mind during the procedure. As I was wheeled into theatre, I was greeted by the anaesthetist who was a lady who I knew from our church. I knew then that the Lord was indeed watching over me. Later that evening I was in intensive care and she came and sat with me holding my hand praying for me. I told her the Lord had answered my prayers. I urge you all to keep praying, as it is a most powerful thing we have. The Lord Jesus is there for us all and we all need to put our trust in Him. He gave up His life for us, so that is our greatest reason to spend time in prayer. God Bless – Dave, Lin, Ayden, Shannon & Megan.

If anyone would like to join the prayer clock to pray a 15 minute prayer slot or more per day, then please contact Dave Sibley on:- 854903 / 07967912226 or e-mail at dave_lin@hotmail.co.uk.

Word from Heather
I have now been a Trustee/Secretary for quite a few years for the God Bus, but have never actually been out on the bus. I feel it must be quite hard for the team after having probably a hard day, to turn out in all weathers, especially on the dark nights of winter when they could be at home in the warm. I know each one of them goes out because they love the Lord and want to see young and old alike come to know Jesus as their own Saviour. I feel that it is very important to back them up with our prayers, which makes an awful lot of difference. Situations on the bus can become difficult on occasions, but the joy when someone comes to know Jesus as their Saviour is worth all the aggro that they have to put up with at times. So, please remember in your prayers the members of the team as they go out at night, and the Trustees that they make the right decisions regarding the running of the bus.
Heather

Note from Roy
Life has its ups and downs, it’s joys and sorrows, it’s trials and testing. Whatever we are facing the Lord has promised to “Never leave us or forsake us” – a faithful saying we can fully rely on! It is often through life’s difficulties that we learn to lean on the Lord. This year so far has been a more intense time of testing for us as an outreach. Several members are dealing with health issues and other problems. We know it is only by God’s grace that we will overcome and that He is able to “work together for good” His purpose in it all. Do pray for us as we seek the Lord’s direction. Thank you for your support and interest – Roy.

Looking ahead
Easter is drawing very close once again and as an outreach continuing with the walking of the cross around the island. If you would like to know more about this or interested in joining us for a leg of the journey then call any of the numbers shown on this newsletter. The days and times also can be found on our website www.godpod.org.uk. This starts on Sunday 13/4/14 until Thursday 17/4/14 and then on the Friday meeting for open-air witness in St James Square, Newport.

We look forward also to Paul Carter joining us again for teaching and speaking engagements. The dates can also be found on the website. The first weekend this year commences with Friday 28th March 7.30pm and then Saturday 29th March 9.30am at Lake Green Mission, Percy Road, Lake. On Sunday 30th March, Paul will be speaking at St Paul’s Church, Shanklin 10.30am and Lake Green Mission 6.30pm.

May the Lord’s grace abide with you and your loved ones – The Team and Trustees.

Christmas Greetings

How wonderful it is when the Lord uses you when someone is lost in darkness, blind and at their wits end who comes onto the bus and you can tell them of the love of God.
The light of His dear Son shines on the blind eyes; the salve of His word allows to see how lost they are and how dark life without the Lord Jesus Christ is.
Once again the dear Lord has used beggars like us to show other beggars where to get bread. Only God knows who will be saved. That is why we love to share our bread of life with others a slice at a time, respecting where they are at.
We try to encourage them to think about their future without the Lord, then showing them the benefits with the Lord through His Gospel.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given.”
He came to save us from our sins and let us this advent overcome self and share our bread with a beggar.
May the reality of this momentous event cause us to love and share the Lord Jesus Christ more.
A most blessed Christmas to you all.
Mick.

Note from Annie

I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support after my little episode a couple of months ago. I’m awaiting results but things seem to be fine now Praise The Lord.
The Lord has blessed us once again this year with being able to do the shows and with such a glorious summer. It’s good to catch up with old friends near and far and to hear the children looking for the church tent to see their little faces after painting them is truly a blessed time.
God Bless – Annie.

Trip to Canada

I was surprised when asked to write something about our
trip to Canada earlier this year. I thought to myself, “What does that has to do with
the ministry of our Godpod?” But of course it is all work done to promote the great
and glorious Kingdom of Jesus, and to make Him better known!
So, I’d better explain about our trip! Before we came to the Island, my wife
and I worked in the far north of Canada with Eskimo and N. American Indian people.
As an Anglican Minister I had a number of parishes during the thirteen and a half years
that we lived there. Having retired from full time ministry here on the Island a little
while ago, my Bishop from The Diocese of The Arctic called to ask if we could help
with some teaching and training of Lay Readers back in our “old patch.”
So grabbing our parkas, we headed north for a proper winter, and spent three months
there in five different communities working with these lovely people.
What a huge privilege it was to be able to go back and revisit our old friends,
and share the things of God with them. And this is where the connection lies with the work of
the Bus! For we all have this great responsibility and calling, to share the Good News of Jesus
with those around us. Mick and the team have a particular vision to do so using the bus to
reach needy people. We need to pray and do what we can to support them in the important
work that they do. Our prayers will make a difference, let’s try to be faithful in our prayers for this work of making Jesus known through the bus ministry and in any other way available.
God Bless you in this important work!
Rev Andy Yorke.

Thanks to all who continue to pray for the outreach and for the work of God on the island as a whole. We pray that the Lord of the harvest will send labourers into His harvest field yet more.

New Year
If the Lord wills, in 2014 we will be in readiness for the various outreach events through the different seasons, as well as the evening bus venues each week. With each year we are aware it is not just a repetition of the norm but a fresh opportunity of witness and to be available for what God has called us to do. As long as He grants us the wherewithal, strength and unction to do so, then that is our meat and drink indeed. We do not know where or when the words of eternal life will be imparted to someone who the Lord is preparing or where one of His sheep is weak and hurting and needs that balm of encouragement in the things of God.
The changes of life often come at us from nowhere and the unexpected lands at our door, which shakes us to the core. As God’s people we are not exempt from the trials of life and maybe that is your experience at this time where the ground has been pulled out from beneath you. Though these things are not understood at the time, we can know through them, the strength and peace beyond understanding in the Lord Jesus Christ who took the crushing weight of our sin on Himself. Only He is the true giver of peace and loves us with an everlasting love.
May the dear Lord Himself bless you richly.

We would like to wish each of you a very Blessed Christmas & a Happy New Year.
– the Team and Trustees.

Prayer
‘Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.” ‘– Luke 10: 2.

‘Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, ‘ – 1 Timothy 2: 2, 3.

…praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— Ephesians 6: 18.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; – Phillipians 4: 6.

The scriptures speak loud and clear when exhorting us to pray and just a select few verses shown above shows that the range of needs is never outside of the scope of prayer, covering every aspect of life we know. There is nothing outside of the sovereign reign of our God and Father and we are directed/encouraged to draw near to the throne of grace with confidence through Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank you to all those who have continued to lift the team in prayer, as we know it is so vital always. We do also have a prayer clock where people have committed 15-minute slots or multiple slots throughout each day. The slots people have covered have for a while now covered 24 hours with a good number more than once. If you would like to pray in this way then please contact David Sibley on 854903 / 07967912226 or e-mail at dave_lin@hotmail.co.uk.

With thanks
Once again we would like to take the opportunity to thank those who have supported by giving for this work. We thank the Lord for this indeed and for His continued kindness to us through His people. Well, we have been going into Shanklin each Thursday evening for a number of weeks now and cut Newport down to one night which is Fridays. We have completed other parts of the work for this year on the streets and the county shows. It continues to be a blessing and times for learning and growing in the Lord. It was good to see familiar faces along the way and catch up with friends old and new. We continue as always with the prayer of asking the Lord if He wills us to continue with what we are doing as being about His business. – The Grace Of The Lord Jesus Christ be with you and your loved ones always,

Amen – Team and Trustees

Greetings

“The Word of God is alive and active, sharper than any two edged sword…’ Hebrews 4: 12 GNB.

Earlier this year I celebrated my 79th birthday. It’s strange how the years go by and it seems like yesterday since I joined the God-pod team in Ventnor. There have been many countless hours since then, twice a week for 14 years, each minute well worth it.

Sometimes the Lord has blessed us to see someone drawn to Himself and we rejoice in that, but mostly it is a matter of love and patience when we talk to people about the love of Jesus. Our main function at all times is to sow the seeds of truth as contained in the scriptures and to keep planting continually.

Prayer is very important and a lot of time is spent praying for people and for this island amongst other things, as we are led. We all know that God moves through the prayer of His people.

This Easter we have had two teams going out around the island, one team walking the cross and the other visiting our towns singing and praising the Lord while also explaining the proper meaning of Easter. It was good to have a few other folk join us on some of these days, for which we thank the Lord.

Although I am now getting ancient, I hope to continue on the bus for as long as the Lord provides me with good health and strength.  After all, our lives are in His hands, no matter how old, or young, we are. After these 14 years I would say I still feel like a novice. Remember that Moses did not begin his ministry until he was 80 years old.  If you would like to come and see us or would like to come out with us then contact any of the numbers on this newsletter. With that, I will close for now – Bernard Penney (Trustee and Team member)

Prayer Clock

I would like to thank everyone on the prayer clock for their ongoing commitment, prayer is so important, so please continue to pray for the bus outreach, and the work that is done. Can you please pray for the shows that we are attending. God Bless you all.

I would just like to share some experiences we had during the Easter outreach, firstly during our time of singing worship songs and presenting the sketch board, a group of people sat by us the whole time, when we had finished, they thanked us and said how nice it was and how much they had enjoyed it. One lady wanted to know more and we were able to share with her our reasons for what we were doing and why. She told us that she believes there is a heaven and a place of darkness and torment, known as hell.

We told her about the bus outreach, and her son who was with her said that he had often been on the bus when in Newport. We gave her some leaflets to read and she was happy for us to pray for her.  As we were packing away our equipment, she asked if she could sing a song for us, and with that she sang in a lovely voice “Yes Jesus loves me”. We left feeling that what we do  is really  rewarding!  At our next venue later on that day, we had quite a different experience, as we were again preaching with the sketch board, two people sat down and listened to what was being said. A group of boys were near to us doing a spot of fishing and watching the sketch board, they were quite happy to openly admit they believed that there is a heaven and a hell, up until this. others listening nearby quite intently were agreeing with what had been said, then the word “hell” was mentioned, with that they got up from their seat and told us we were wrong. They quickly walked away!. That day we saw two totally different reactions to the truth.

                                                                                  Dave and Lin

If anyone would like to join the prayer clock to pray a regular 15 minute prayer slot or more each day, then please contact Dave Sibley on:- 854903 / 07967912226 or e-mail at dave_lin@hotmail.co.uk

The Continuing Work

Greetings, we would like to thank everybody for their prayers for the Easter outreach in terms of fruit. The Lord knows who was saved and as far as we are concerned it was a season for sowing for which we are ever grateful to the dear Lord and His people.

We had a superb day sharing at the Bembridge Street Fair this bank holiday Monday and the dear Lord blessed us with lovely weather indeed. We are thankful to the organisers of this event for making us room to take part and thanks to those who came and shared fellowship with us. We are at present trying to find a parking space for The God Pod and also storage for our show equipment. The owner of our present parking spot now has planning permission for change of use. We continually present the outreach to the Lord to see if He wants us to continue witnessing and the answer to our prayer is that people are still coming to the God Pod seeking Salvation. Praise The Lord! So… we will continue.

May the Lord bless you and your families from husband and wife team Mick and Annie.

Sincere Thanks For Faithful Giving

We wish to express our sincere thanks for all the faithful support we receive and appreciate the regular donations and direct debit giving. It is most important that we say “Thank you”. Without this support we would be very limited in our outreach for the Lord.

Grateful thanks to you.

God bless   Roy

Quote

Let us but feel that He has His heart set upon us, that He is watching us from those heavens with tender interest, that He is following us day by day as a mother follows her babe in his first attempt to walk alone, that He has set His love upon us, and in spite of ourselves is working out for us His higher will and blessing, as far as we will let Him – and then nothing can discourage us.

The main purpose for the prayer clock is to have prayer coverage 24/7 for the Island, for God’s mercy to be known and for all those who minister the gospel. We still have the majority of slots covered but we don’t mind if times are doubled up. Prayer is vital!

Closing Greeting & Invitation

Well it doesn’t seem that long ago since Christmas and Easter seems to have come around again so quickly. Some of the team with Mick will be out again during Holy Week walking the Cross. The rest of the team will be out witnessing in various towns. As per last year we will be about an hour in each town and you would be most welcome to join us at this blessed time – God Bless Annie.
As the old song goes “Here we go again “and “Another year older and deeper in debt*, not from bad management but in debt to the Dear Lord for His enabling us to walk again around the Island this Holy Week. It is a time of great blessing to pray, sing hymns and encourage each other through the pain and discomfort that we often experience. We would like to invite anyone who would be willing to join us in this witness as you would be most welcome. Please contact any email or telephone number shown on the newsletter.
We would be very grateful for your prayers that people would only see the “Old Rugged Cross” and that we would bear fruit that glorifies God and that lasts.
The Grace Of The Lord Jesus Christ be with you and your family always,

Happy Easter Mick – (Psalm 51v10-13.)
