Christmas Greetings
This prophecy of the Messiah’s birthplace Micah 5 v 2, was fulfilled in Luke 2 v 4-7.
The evidence of biblical prophecy is the answer to many sceptics’, as to the unspeakable treasures we have in the scripture dates found in the Old testament that can be authenticated. We must keep in mind that the knowledge of the bible’s inspiration will not in itself bring a sinner to the foot of the cross. There must also be a knowledge of sin, and we must like Paul persuade people concerning the Lord Jesus Christ from both the law of Moses and the Prophets (Acts 28v23) and pray that the Holy Spirit will convict of sin that may lead to the lost being born again. May they experience this wonderful gift of this child born unto us.
May the joy of this event be yours.
Every blessing Mick

Wednesday 7pm – Wroxall Station Road Car Park
Thursday 7pm – Shanklin Main Co-op Side Car Park
Friday 6pm – Newport Church Litten Car Park

Prayer
– Many people may go to a church service only for this time of year to enjoy the traditional aspects of the season. Pray that such as these would meet with the Lord and that the nativity story would be revealed in their hearts and lives as to the meaning of our Lord Jesus Christ’s advent and what He came to do.
– Christmas may not mean much anymore to a great deal of folk, to them it is just another day. This may be due to the effects of life experience, grieving loss or serious life changing events. Pray for the love and mercy of God to reach them as only the dear Lord knows how. He may use each of us to be that source of Christian love and witness.
– Pray for the gospel message to be heard despite the commercialisation of this holiday time and the torrent of the seasonal rush.
– Please pray for the team as we go into another year of ministry on the streets.

Christmas to New Year
When I was out shopping the other day I heard a radio discussion about Christmas time and an estimate was stated as to the percentage of unwanted presents there will be this year that will remain unused or end up in charity shops or ebay etc. That is a reminder in one way how the greatest gift of all is treated. Many will disclaim the relevance for them or reject the offer of the gospel. Yet while there is time the gospel must still be proclaimed so we press on and remain available to bring the message of Jesus to those around us.
As we go into the New Year we will be planning for our Easter time of outreach when the team will be walking the cross during Holy week ending on Easter Sunday. Good Friday will be a time of street witness. Perhaps some of you reading this may wish to participate for a day or a small leg of the walk. The schedule for the week is as outlined below.

Sunday 14th April 2019 8.30am. Start from Ryde Elim, Albert Street, Ryde, via Puck-pool, Seaview, St Helens, Bembridge, Sandown, Lake, Shanklin, top of Cowleaze Hill.

-Wednesday 17th April 2019 9.00am. From Yarmouth, Shalfleet, Porchfield, Gurnard, Cowes, over floating Bridge, East Cowes.

-Thurs 18th April 2019 9.00am am. From East Cowes, Newport, Rookley, Godshill.

-Friday 19th April 2019 10.30am – 1.30pm
– Street outreach St James Square, Newport.

-Sunday 21st April 2019 8.00am. From Crematorium, Wootton, Binstead and finish at Ryde Elim.

Some Christmas Reminders
May the Christmas cheer remind you of Him who said “Be of good cheer”
May the Christmas bell remind you of the glorious proclamation of His birth.
May the Christmas carols remind you of the song the angels sang “Glory to God in the highest”.
May the Christmas season remind you in every way of Jesus Christ our King.

As we approach the end of another year it is good to give thanks for the Lord’s blessing and provision. We thank you for your prayer and financial support for this outreach. Our greatest joy comes from those who come to know the Lord Jesus Christ and His salvation.
May the dear Lord truly bless you whatever your circumstances.
Roy
We thank you for your continued encouragement and support.

Greetings
I thank The Lord for upholding us according to His word and allowing us to witness once again, taking up the cross and walking around the Island Easter week.
On Good Friday we were singing in Newport open air underneath the arches when 3 young people came over to us with 6 cold drinks that they had bought with their money. I asked why had they done it and they said because they wanted to. What a blessing with tender hearts like that, it would have been wrong not to share the word of God with them, “Giving the least a cold drink.”
Also what a blessing to be able to join with Churches together, singing praises to the Glorious God Head. Every Blessing, Mick.

A Royal Wedding
John 2:11 Amplified Bible (AMP) ‘This, the first of His signs (attesting miracles), Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed His glory [displaying His deity and His great power openly], and His disciples believed [confidently] in Him [as the Messiah—they adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Him]’.
With the recent royal wedding occurring, I thought of the wedding in Cana. By attending, Jesus stamped his approval on the marriage covenant between a man and woman.- Genesis 2:24, Amplified Bible (AMP) ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh’.
During the wedding feast the wine ran out. Jesus did something only God can do. He changed the molecular composition of matter, the water became wine. The wine was good. God’s timing is always perfect and Jesus, knowing the wine would run out, displayed for the first time his glory. Jesus changed the water into wine. In the same way he changes a hard heart into a soft heart. Those who know the Lord can attest to this miracle of transformation. We’ve all been invited to a wedding feast (Matthew 22). Some will refuse to attend but that doesn’t mean we don’t hand out the invites. Only the Lord knows who will attend, and as his workers let’s tell about this wonderful wedding feast when the opportunity arises. – Every blessing Richard.

Prayer
Thank you every one for your continued prayers, please continue praying for myself, Mick and my daughter Shannon who is in need of prayer for her health. Also for the upcoming shows that we take the bus out to, and the ladies who do a fantastic job face painting. There are still spaces needing to be filled on the prayer clock. God bless, Dave & Lin.
Pray for the work of the gospel on the island and the church. Pray for those who minister the good news and teach the word. Pray for our institutions and all of those who hold office and in authority. Pray that the life giving message of Jesus would be revealed on this isle amidst the prevailing culture and against the tide of unbelief. God can open hearts through his Spirit. Pray for all of Gods people to have the wisdom and boldness with God given opportunities to share with those the dear Lord may put in our path in love.

This Summer Shows
For many years now we have had the wonderful opportunity of attending two of the island summer shows. We intend (lord willing) to be at the Chale show early August and the Wolverton Manor show in early September. We set up a marquee with the intention of sharing the gospel in a more relaxed way. We provide face painting, children’s craft, a book stall and a bric-a-brac stall. Both shows give an invaluable opportunity to give out tracts, but more importantly time to have conversations. We would appreciate your prayer support and would love to see you should you attend.
Every blessing, Roy.

A Walking Challenge – Fundraising
Over the 19th to 23rd of June I will be walking around the Isle of Wight coastal path to raise funds for the Christian Institute who are dedicated Christian charity who defend Christian truth in the public arena especially where Christian freedoms and teaching of the bible is eroded in society. They provide legal help to those affected and face court action due to Christian conscience. Their website is www.christian.org.uk.
Perhaps you could consider giving to this important work using secure giving page at www.give.net/Wightpathwalk. Type the web address into your internet browser and you will be able to go straight to my page. The giving page will be still active after the week for a while yet.
God Bless, Nigel.

Greetings
Much love to you all in the dear Lords name.
We often hear people blame (the enemy) the d***l whose name I will not give pen to for tribulation.
When God uses this very instrument to fulfil His will for our lives, God takes us through the fire not to burn us but to purify us,
He takes us through the waters not to drown us but to wash us and when the waters are rough. He’s in the boat with us.
When we understand that the dear Lord chastens those He loves, this enables us to endure trials.
Psalm 119:71 – ‘It is good for me that I have been afflicted that I may learn your statutes.
Loving Father through your gracious Holy Spirit would you please teach us good judgment, wise and right discernment and knowledge for we have believed (trusted, relied on and clung to your word) (commandments)’ – AMP version.

Prayer Points
Pray for all of those that visit the bus in the evenings that. Please pray that there would be fruitful conversations that are gospel lead with wisdom and care.
Pray that the dear Lord would graciously open people’s hearts to the message of hope in the gospel and those that do come to the Lord and added to Gods family that they would be protected from the devils schemes, grow in Christ and would be able to continue in Christian fellowship.
Also pray for guidance for the team & trust going forward into the future with this outreach work that we would continue in the will of God for us as long as God desires us to go out.
Pray that the Lord of the harvest would continue to send out labourers into his harvest field and for the reception of God’s Word in the land.
If you could further pray for Mick and Dave in the team for healing and restoration as regards their ongoing health needs.

Harvest-time
In Genesis 8 verse 22 it says “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease”. What a wonderful promise from our Heavenly Father who continues to sustain our planet day by day. It’s on record that we have had an exceptional summer with such a long dry spell. Without rain our crops would wither and die and as we have witnessed we are more prone to wildfires and the destruction they bring. This reminds me that there is truly a famine in the land for the word of God! We have fallen far away spiritually and morally as a Nation from God’s best. There is a spiritual dryness and only our God can bring times of refreshing so there is an urgent need to pray for God’s mercy to be shown rather than His righteous anger. He is a God who will fulfil all His promises because He is just.
Every Blessing, Roy.

Gods Faithfulness
“He hath said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee” Hebrews 8: 5.
Here is a promise that provides a balm to every wound and a quieting for every downcast spirit, as well as for every child of God with whatever situation one is in or whatever circumstance prevails. The promise is sure because ‘He hath said…’ Just as He said ‘Let there be light and there was light.’ God spoke and it came into being, so He has spoken in his communion with His people that He would never leave them. In every changing scene of life the dear Lord will remain true to His loving promises always.
Are you facing adversity or have been facing uncertainty, or find yourself as it were in unchartered territory, alone, bereaved or broken? Then rest your head on his breast this very hour and cast your burdens upon the king of kings.
Are you feeling ineffective, unfruitful, crushed by temptation? Is there any limit to our Heavenly Father to help? Will He pass by those whom His beloved Son has purchased and leave us to ourselves? There may be times that bring what seems a frowning providence but yet still God works out still all things for good for those who love Him , who are called according to His promise (Romans 8: 28). He says,’ I will never leave thee nor forsake thee’!
‘ For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal’. 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18.
May God Bless you and your loved ones always.

Greetings
May the Dear Lord bless you this Easter. It seems only 5 minutes ago we were celebrating the birth of our dear Lord and here we are now preparing to walk the “Walk of Witness” as our dear Lord commanded us, “You shall be my witnesses. ” I am in my 74th year so I don’t know how many more years the Lord will allow me! We walk as a reminder that without the shedding of blood there can be no remission for sin, safety, security or salvation and no escape from God’s Holy wrath. We pray that our heavenly Father will have mercy on the weather as He orders all things. We all serve a great God and Father through the Lord Jesus Christ in the strength of the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Much love Mick.

From Richard
John 20:24-25 – (NKJV) – “Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
With Easter coming there is so much in scripture to ponder regarding the crucifixion of Jesus. The fulfilment of numerous scriptures from the Old Testament that came true is one. The thief who was crucified next to Jesus and his salvation is another. The main thing though is the price paid in full by Jesus. His death and resurrection gives us hope, turning God’s righteous wrath from us onto the cross at Calvary. There is so much I could write about but let me finish by writing of Thomas. Doubting Christians have two things that doubting Thomas did not have—the indwelling Holy Spirit and the written New Testament. By the power of both the Spirit and the Word, we can overcome doubts and, like Thomas, be prepared to follow our Lord and Saviour and give our all for Him. – Every blessing Richard.

Prayer
It is fairly safe to say in all likelihood that we would not ever expect to be invited to Buckingham Palace in our lifetime to have tea and a chat with the queen. One thing as Christians that is promised in gracious certainty is that we each can draw near to have an audience with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week with an open invitation. Praise the Lord!
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) – ‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus’.
1 Timothy 2:1-3 (NKJV) – ‘Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, interces-sions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.’

Easter Outreach
The Easter holidays are nearly on us once again and we look forward to this year’s ‘Walk of Wit-ness’ as we carry the cross around the island as a team. Who knows what opportunities for gospel conversation the Lord will direct but pray that He will certainly use this time for His glory and that seeds will be sown? The walk will take place from Palm Sunday 25th March to Easter Sunday 1st April with a rest day on Saturday March 31st. On Good Friday we will be engaged in street outreach at St James Square, Newport. For our walk route and the schedule for the week please refer to the events page on our Website www.godpod.org.uk.

Thoughts for Easter
With Easter fast approaching we will be reflecting on our dear Lord’s great sacrifice taking that cup of God’s wrath fully on Himself. Our Lord Jesus cried out “My God, My God why hast thou forsaken me”?He took our punishment that we might be saved and know the mercy of God. This Easter can be truly a great time of witness to the glorious news of the gospel. We must pray that opportunities will not be lost and for all those involved with public witness to our Saviour’s redeeming work. Christ has risen!

Rejoicing in Heaven
Grace, Peace and Love in the Lord Jesus Christ be yours this festive season. It was a great blessing about three weeks ago when a young man came into the bus at his wits end, having serious thoughts about ending his life, so we shared with him about the reason for this season – ‘Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners.’ Instead of his life ending, it has just begun; the dear Lord graciously saved him and has transformed his life. The change is as real as the difference between life and death, light and darkness. Truly we serve a wonderful, loving, kind, patient God through the Lord Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. “ To God be the glory great things He has done”. Every Blessing, Mick.

From the Chairman
It is my humble honour and proud privilege to become the chairman of the trustees for the God Bus and it is a position for which I have had no previous experience. I pray that the Lord will give me the wisdom, knowledge and the right qualities to fulfil my duties in serving this most dedicated army of warriors who work as a team. They support each other in prayer; give encouragement with their individual and different personal qualities.
The God Bus outreach consists of the team involved with the evening ministry over the five nights each week at different locations on the island, with the aim of ministering to people with their needs and spreading the Gospel message that the Lord has commanded them to do. The trustees and wives support the outreach especially in the Lord’s work of sharing His love at the Isle of Wight shows by (for example) painting the faces of children and sharing their love with the parents. With Gods’ grace and the power of the Holy Spirit given to each one, they have been able to continue this hard work with dedication, which is a testimony of the success of the last 25 years of the Lord’s work through them. May they be blessed in Jesus name.
Every blessing, Ken – Chairman

Baptism & Testimony
At the very start of my journey with Christ it was quite difficult, passing from the world to becoming a child of God. I struggled to leave behind my former ways and pursuits. I had experienced personal miracles yet had ignored his call often, but the time had come to listen; walk His path; to study his word and follow it, having to swallow that pride and accept I am not my own. He is worthy of my total trust. He knows what’s best for me, and as I abide in Him, He will never break his promise. Since then I couldn’t help but tell others about my faith, even strangers as I was led to, sharing the good news of Jesus and all he has done for us.
I was a Christian for just over 1 year, walking solo with Christ until I realised that I needed to be around other Christians who shared the same love for Him. I became lonely, and needed help in my journey, so I went from town to town and church to church, speaking to different types of people before one day around Easter time in Newport, I bumped into Mick and Richy. I had to ask what their belief was because months leading up to this I was having discussions with the JW’s, and being in the same area I thought they were with them, but after having a good conversation I was invited to the Wayfarers fellowship which I attended the following Sunday. It’s a smaller group than I’d previously experienced, but on arrival I felt so welcomed, and met lovely regular members. I loved the service which was solely scripture based teachings, with great hymns which I prefer opposed to some of what I’d previously encountered. (They make a lovely cup of tea with a good choice of biscuits afterwards too ha ha!). Since going there I haven’t looked back.’

‘For a long time I couldn’t wait to get baptised. I was holding out for an old mate of mine from Newcastle, also a born again Christian 15 years before myself. I thought it would be nice for him to do it for me from where I’m originally from, in Gods closest ocean of Tynemouth, but plans just kept falling through. As it was coming to the end of another summer and not wanting to wait until the next year, I asked Mick and Richy if they would mind baptising me and they jumped at the chance to do so. After about a fortnight or so of my asking, we met at Ventnor sea front, where on a chilly evening on the 3rd of October, a declaration was made that my sins were washed away! I was baptised in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit before 14 people who came especially to share this time with me, and other bystanders going about their business, including a Christian couple on holiday that came over and introduced themselves. It was a cold but lovely evening, and I thank Mick and Richy for sharing the temperature of that water with me ha ha! God bless you my brothers’.
I thank Christ for what He’s done for me and continues to do, and also others around me where He has entered their heart and so changed their life for the better with His eternal salvation. He has promised to love and take care of us always, and unlike the enemy, He’s true to his word and will never ever break His promise to us, as testimonies, history, and science proves to us. He will also be there for all those whose hearts are opened to the truth of God’s love in Jesus everywhere. Every blessing Eric.

Urgent Prayer Need
I would ask for prayer please regarding a recent brain test result. The results were not good and not what I was expecting. I am having problems with my speech and balance at the moment, and waiting to see a specialist. As a Christian I still need continued prayer, as we are under attack at all times and as a believer I am still vulnerable. It is not only non believers that need prayer, we need just as much as everyone else.
‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus’. – Phillipians (ch4: 6,7)
Thanks Dave.

May God Bless you and be with each of you this Christmas time and always.

Greetings

On the day we put up the tent at Chale Show, the dear Lord released a 30 knot wind and horizontal rain, but we managed to get the job done. “Praise the Lord”. People were very generous with their donations as we don’t charge for face painting, books and tracts etc.

For 25 years we have been out sharing the Gospel, asking the dear Lord if  He still wants us to carry on? But as you can see from the treasurer’s article below, this gives me the Lord’s confirmation that He has been speaking to people. Their generosity is a great encouragement to continue with our witnessing and has a far greater effect than they realize as it enables us to continue to share the Word and the love of the Lord Jesus Christ to those who will listen.

We have just finished attending another show and as an example from a previous  show there was a young man who was heading down the wrong road. We were able to share the love of Jesus Christ with him and his life now has been transformed. He now has his own business, married and a baby daughter, “Praise the Lord”.

God gave the first and the best so it is with gratitude that we can continue serving Him, thanks be to God for His gift that is beyond description.

May the Lord bless you richly

Mick

How the Lord supplies!

Very recently our bus developed problems with the clutch and so at the time of writing the vehicle was at the garage. Extra financial resources had been received recently prior to the repair and so it is a great encouragement to us all when provision is made in advance.

We do thank the Lord and His people for the financial resources received. Without such support we would be greatly hindered in continuing the outreach.  Thank you from the bus team and trustees.

Php_4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Every  blessing.

Roy  – Treasurer.

Thought for the Future

1 Corinthians 15:14 (NKJV)  – And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.

– The story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17) had me thinking about the many Goliaths we can encounter in our walk with Jesus. David was a young shepherd boy and had faith in the true living God. David had already had encounters with a bear and lion who took sheep, and gave God the glory for delivering him from these encounters.

David’s faith in God gave him confidence in this encounter with the giant Goliath. David killed Goliath using a sling and stone. His faith and trust was the key. Our biggest Goliath is death. The wonderful thing is that Jesus died on the cross for us and rose again and his promise is our rock when we face our biggest Goliath.

John 14:2-3 (NKJV)  In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

– Every blessing Richard.

Phillipians 4 v 19″ The Lord said I will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Greetings
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are grateful to the Lord once again for His kindness to us. We are glad now that the bus repairs have been completed to be back on the streets once again serving the Lord. We have been amazed at the Lord’s provision in His undertaking through those who carried out the work so professionally. Those seemingly “Non Christians” who carried out the work were most generous in reducing their labour costs and hours charged in welding and painting the vehicle to a high standard.
God the Father has given us the best in our blessed redeemer, so it’s only right that we present that same image to the world. We are looking forward to meeting those who the dear Lord might draw by His Spirit to our beloved Saviour and friend The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth through the bus witness.
If anyone should have any prayer requests please contact Dave and Lin.

What I have done is worthy of nothing but silence and forgetfulness, but what God has done for me is worthy of everlasting and thankful memory.
Joseph Hall (1574-1656).

Giving thanks
In Luke 17:11-19, we read an account of Jesus healing ten lepers. When the lepers saw Jesus they called out, “Jesus, master, have pity on us, ”Jesus replied, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” The priests would have examined them to see if they were cured and allowed back into the community. At the moment of Jesus’ instruction, the men were still lepers. No physical change had yet taken place, but, in faith, the men obeyed. As they began to walk to the priest, they were healed.

Jesus has always required faith on the part of the person who asked for healing. Only one returned to thank Jesus for the healing received, and that was a Samaritan despised by the Jews. Jesus expressed disappointment that the other nine had not thought to give praise to God for their healing. From this we learn that God desires for us to express our thankfulness to Him for all He does in our lives. We should always give thanks to the giver and not just the gifts.
The greatest gift is Jesus. – Our “Satnav” through life and our God and Saviour.

Every blessing Richard

It is good always to give thanks!
We have so much to be thankful for. Daily we receive gracious blessings from the Lord especially sins forgiven and new life in Jesus. It is good to give thanks not because we must, but because we delight to do so.
There is much to make us despair, but the Lord has promised “Never to leave us or forsake us.” What a solid promise that truly is and we can fully rely on Him to keep His word as we live in this troubled and desperate world, where so many experience sorrow, pain, and doubt. Thank you Lord, for we can trust you all our days.

Every blessing, Roy.

Thou hast given so much to me; Give one thing more, – a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me; As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.

‘Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends’. – John 15: 13 NKJV.

Easter Greetings
An African Chief got wind of mutiny in the tribe, so in order to quash the rebellion those who were caught would be given 100 lashes without mercy. The chief was horrified to discover that it was his own brother leading the revolt. It was envy, covertness, pride, which lead to the betrayal so that he could take over as head of the tribe. Now everyone thought the chief would break his word, being a just man, he had his brother tied to a tree then himself and took the 100 lashes across his own bare flesh in his brothers place, so he kept his word (justice was done) demonstrating his great love and forgiveness towards his brother.
We are coming up to Easter where the Lord Jesus Christ offered His back to the butchers of Rome in our place also showing the world such love. How can we not be a witness to that Love? – John 15;13.
Every Blessing, Mick.

Thank you for your continued prayers, there are still some slots needing to be filled on the prayer clock. We have seen prayer continuously being answered. Please continue prayer for the team, and prayer for our brothers who, will once again be walking the island at Easter. Lin’s Testimony
Recently I have had some worrying health issues, which were constantly on my mind and getting me down. It took some time to realize that I was getting nowhere and worrying was doing me so much harm, both physically and mentally. Since I have been praying for reassurance and handing over the pressures into the Lord’s hands, I now feel a huge burden has been lifted from me. I am pleased to say that various tests and scans have all come back clear so far. My worry never made any difference to the outcome, it only caused more worry. I know it is our human nature to dwell on things, but God can and will help you deal with it. The saying “It is always better to share your worries” is very true. John 14:1. – God bless. Lin.

Outreach Events – Easter and May Bank Holiday
We pray that there will be further opportunities for seed sowing and witness in 2017. The Easter holiday period will soon be with us once again. As is our custom it is still very much on our heart to carry the cross around the island as we do from year to year. We commence with our usual route around the island on Sunday 9th April. Continuing on Monday to Thursday followed by street witness on Good Friday in St James’ Square, Newport. Saturday will be a day off. On Easter Sunday morning we finish with the final leg. Further details can be again found on our website www.godpod.org.uk.
We also aim to take the bus over to the Bembridge Street Fayre for the annual end of May bank holiday family event.

Lydia
Acts 16:14 (NIV) One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshipper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message – Acts chapter 16 is a chapter of scripture that I always enjoy reading and thinking about, there’s so much in there. The account of Lydia’s conversion and how Paul and Silas sang and praised God after being severely beaten, are in this wonderful chapter. Paul tells us that the spirit of God guided him and his companions to Philippi. It was here that Paul encountered Lydia. She was a worshipper of God but had not yet heard the gospel. There’s a wonderful line of scripture contained in verse 14 “The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message”. How wonderful. Paul didn’t know that his words would go to Lydia’s heart, God did. None of us know when a “Lydia” will be spoken to. The good news of Jesus Christ are the best words you could ever speak. Let’s tell the good news when it’s appropriate, let’s be like Paul. Romans 10:17 (NIV). Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. – Every blessing Richard.

May the Lord’s grace be with you and your loved ones.

Christmas a time for joy and a time for sorrow
As we reflect on this season of the year we are most grateful that God sent His Son into the world to save us sinners. To think that Jesus Christ the Son of God should condescend and humble Himself to come as the scriptures tell us, this should fill our hearts with gratitude and awe. We have much to be thankful for in times of joy and in sorrow. There will be for many this year an empty space made by the loss of a loved one or a friend and maybe circumstances are challenging too. May the peace and comfort from knowing the Lord be our strength. Hebrews 13 verse 5 says” I will never leave you or forsake you”. This is the promise we can truly rely upon, not only now but also for the unknown future.
Thank you to all who support this outreach through giving and prayer, we are most grateful to the Lord for your standing with us.

Word from Bernard
In the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. 1 Timothy 4:1.

One of the enduring factors of the Holy Bible is that it has the answer to every human problem. God’s principles stand sure and are timeless statements of biblical truth that are just as true today as they were in Timothy’s day two thousand years ago!!

The bus team go throughout this Island with the task of sharing the truth of God’s word. We pray this truth may bring someone to Christ. We will continue to witness to that word in 2017 by God’s leading and trusting Him who alone can bring the harvest to fruition. Best wishes for the New Year.

New Year
By the grace of God we are looking forward to 2017 faithfully continuing to witness at the various shows, walking the cross at Easter and attending our nightly venues. With each year that goes there is a danger of allowing repetition to become the norm. . So we take a fresh approach to witness and to be available for what God has called us to do for as long as he requires. This of course depends on His calling and the strength to enable us to keep going. We must not diminish our responsibility to making Jesus known in our community.
We never know who the Lord is preparing to hear of His redemptive love for themselves. We also endeavour to encourage fellow believers who feel burdened to place their trust in Jesus. As those poor shepherds of old witnessed to what they saw and heard on that holy night many years ago, then we also have that joy and wonderful burden to share the good news of great joy upon our streets.
The changes of life often come at us and the unexpected lands at our door which can and often does shake us to the core. As God’s people we are not exempt from the trials of life and maybe that is your experience at this time where the ground seems to have been pulled out from beneath you. Though it is hard to understand at the time, we can through God’s provision gain the strength and peace that is beyond human understanding in the Lord Jesus Christ, who took the crushing weight of our sin on Himself. Only He is the true giver of peace and loves us with an everlasting love.
May the dear Lord Himself bless you richly. Nigel.

Greeting from Mick
In the beginning was the word and the word became flesh and dwelt among us “1Tim 1:15.
Faithful and worthy of all acceptance is this saying “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”.
Taking lines from various hymns can give us great encouragement as follows:-
From Heaven you came helpless babe, God forgave my sin in Jesus name, I’ve been born again in Jesus name, I can sing the wondrous story, Because He lives I can face tomorrow, so that my anchor will hold in the storms of life and we can count our blessings through Love divine all love excelling, through Jesus what a beautiful name, with those hands that flung stars into space surrendered to cruel nails, On the old rugged cross, Amazing love oh what sacrifice, Amazing Grace indeed and My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness no merit of my own I claim but wholly trust in Jesus name.
Truly along with the heavenly hosts my soul rejoices in God my Saviour.
Every Blessing thank you for your support,

Greetings
Dear reader may the Lord bless you,
When I was parking the bus the other night it was pitch black and so I stood there in awe looking at how bright the stars were shining and I felt my soul rise with the heavens to declare the glory of our God.
Recently we had Mr and Mrs songthrush who have produced one fledgling came up to and looked through the lounge window along with a baby blackbird and a young robin. To cap it all Spike the Hedgehog comes and sits outside the kitchen window, what joy it is to my soul and all this of God’s grace and it’s all free.
Mr Bunyan say’s “God is good to all and lets His sun shine and His rain fall upon the un-thankful and unholy, it has also been said that God gives grace to all some of the time and to some all the time”. 2 Corinthians 9 vrs 8 – God is able to make all grace abound toward us.
We thank you gracious, faithful, heavenly Father for your mercies for they are new every morning Great is your Faithfulness. To Him be all the Glory. Mick.

Prayer Clock
Thank you for all your continued prayer support. There are still some empty time slots needing to be filled. We appreciate prayer support for the venues that we visit, and also for the shows that we attend throughout the year. If you feel that you would like to support by taking a
prayer time slot then please contact Dave Sibley on 854903 or email.. dave_lin@hotmail.co.uk. Having round the clock prayer is most needed and is a vital support for the work we do.
To forgive or not to forgive that is the question?
I find it incredible that our fellow Christian brothers and sisters who have faced great trial and have been seriously wronged or damaged can say they can forgive their enemies and really mean it. Many of us receive emails or newsletters from organisations requesting prayer and financial support for our fellow Christians around the world who are suffering for their faith. We hear and see so much horror and abuse in the name of religion. Jesus said “I say to you love your enemies do good to those who hurt and despitefully use you”. How can we love and respond in the way our Lord teaches? It would seem almost impossible and yet the Lord will enable us through the strengthening of His Holy Spirit. Sadly many of us do not move on in God because we hold on to past hurts etc. So let us give those hurts to our dear Lord who paid the greatest price of all.

Towards 2017
With the teaching weekends as listed above, this will conclude our events for this year, but
of course our regular day to day, Monday to Friday work on the streets will continue. We have recently been blessed with the Wolverton Garden Fair weekend and also the Chale show earlier this summer, where the ladies of our team were very busy with the face painting once again. We gave away a good number of Christian tracts to those who visited the tent. We pray that the dear Lord will graciously reveal the truth contained in the literature to those folk and they would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ in a personal way. Well, another year is passing very quickly it seems, Christmas themes are rapidly appearing in the shops and 2017 is around the corner. We will plan ahead, but ultimately we commit the future to the one who alone knows what is yet to come and works all things out for His glory. Praise be to the name of the Lord!
