Easter Greetings
Easter greetings to you all, once again the season for sowing has arrived, in Numbers 11 we
read how the people complained and the Lord heard it and was displeased. Again the people were
not satisfied with heavenly food as they craved and lusted for the food from Egypt. They soon
forgot the slavery and brutal whip of their task master.
Not satisfied with the heavenly manna and the kindness of God. God’s manna’s colour was
like bdellium (bedo/lach) white frost on the ground considered as a precious stone,
Rev2:17 please read: Israel had lost what God was doing for them, setting them free, making a
new nation, new land protecting them, feeding them, they could only think of what He wasn’t doing
for them, only about food that then sowed dissatisfaction.
The manna white stone are a foreshadow of the Lord, what we sow is not made alive unless it
dies, it must have the right conditions in Cor 15:3 5 as Paul likens our resurrection, but growth in a
garden seed placed in the ground will not grow unless it dies, the plant that grows is very different
from the seed that was sown, because God gives it a new body (1Cor 15:42) please read, what
was sown in corruption raised incorrupt, sown in dishonour raised in glory, sown natural, raised
spiritual. We are in grafted wild olive branch into the true vine.
I grafted my own tomatoes from old disease resistant root stock, sown both together, when a
graft is taken you grow on your variety from perfect root stock. Jesus is the perfect root stock we
draw our goodness from Him, our lily of the valley is starting to grow in our garden and will fill the
garden, and we are the fragrance of Jesus to God who are being saved and among those who are
perishing. Question? What kind of seed are we sowing, do we complain, grumble, murmur about
the weather, against the bread from heaven? We must be careful because He will hear, let us sow
seed that will last for eternal life in our risen Lord Jesus Christ.
Every blessing in His name Mick.
How strange that souls whom Jesus feeds with manna from above,
Should grieve Him by their evil deeds and sin against His love.
But ’tis a greater marvel still that He from whom they stray,
Should bear with their rebellious will and wash their sins away.

Walking The Cross Witness
It is with great regret that we will not be able to carry out this witness this year for a number
of reasons. It has been an honour to serve the Lord in this way for many years and we hope to
continue in the future should circumstances and health allow.
Easter A Time For Reflection
Now springtime is here, we see nature renewing itself with fresh growth on the trees and new
life all around. With longer daylight hours and warmer weather to enjoy we give thanks. Father
God has set the seasons for us as He controls all things. It is good to marvel at creation and give
thanks to Father God for His generous supply as He sustains all things.
The greatest gift God has given to mankind was His only Son who was born at Bethlehem as a
man to identify Himself with us. As the scriptures say “Fully God and Fully Man”. Long ago in the
garden of Eden when Adam and Eve fell into sin by their disobedience we have suffered as
mankind with the sin nature and this has separated us from God. We needed a redeemer! Jesus
Christ truly is our redeemer as He took all our sin when He suffered and died on the cross.
Without His sacrifice we would be lost forever. Every Easter is a good time to reflect, have we by
His grace grown in our relationship with Him or are we drifting?
The miracle of Easter Sunday truly inspires as Jesus rose from the dead and is alive in Heaven
interceding for all who call Him as Lord and Saviour. There is one question we all need to answer
is Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour if not, why not?
May you have a blessed Easter. Roy

Trusting God
Proverbs 3 v 5 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own
understanding.
‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths’.
Do we do this? Do we find it hard? God knows what he is doing.
Why we should trust him: –
He knows better than we do (James 1-6). All things are possible with God (Mark 9-23)
He is worthy of our trust, and wants the best for us.
Do read the story of Joseph and how he trusted God. Genesis chapters 37-50.
God Bless, Lindy.

The Ascension
Act 1:6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at
this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” Act 1:7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know
times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. Act 1:8 But you shall receive
power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Act 1:9 Now when He had spoken
these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
Act 1:10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood
by them in white apparel, Act 1:11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into
heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner
as you saw Him go into heaven.” From NKJV.
Have a very happy and blessed Easter from the Team and Trustees.

Greetings
Here we are again coming to the close of another year, we thank the Lord for the opportunity to take part in the shows, a real blessing.
It’s a wonderful time in history when God so graciously gave us His beloved Son, amazingly at his birth 324 prophecies were fulfilled, what a precious gift to save us from our sins.
In Colossians 2v6 says “as you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord”, Paul uses the word rooted and built up in Him. Just as the plant gets its food from the root so we also receive our life-giving strength from Jesus, it would be easy to get downhearted with all that is going on within and without.
Proverbs 12v25 we see an anxious heart weighs a man down but a kind word cheers him up.
Proverbs 15v13 a happy heart makes a face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
Proverbs 17v22 a cheerful heart is good medicine but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Jesus said “do not be anxious or afraid”; for a very good reason! endorphins can cause us harm.
A man’s spirit sustains him in sickness but a crushed spirit who can bear.
Proverbs 23v7 as a man thinketh so he is.
Proverbs 31v25 we see this wonderful picture of a lovely wife and mother; she’s clothed with strength and dignity, she can laugh at days to come, she’s free from anxiety and worry.
1Thessalonions v16 to18 rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Philippians 4v8 finally brethren whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.

Have a safe and blessed Christmas. Love in Christ Jesus, Mick and Annie.

Remembrance Day
How many these days truly spare a thought to the significance or symbolism marked by the November 11th, Armistice Day?
The powerful movie ‘1917’ and the recent remake of ‘All quiet on the Western Front’ and many more reveal a mere glimpse to the atrocities and sacrifices made by many, some no older than their late teens, who never returned again to their loved ones. Together forever they lay in fields far away along with those considered their enemies, each fighting for their own countries cause. The endless rows of poppies now grow abundantly above them. We remember above all Jesus who gave Himself for us and laid down His life that we may truly be reconciled to God and find true peace, ‘Greater love has no man than this, that he lays down his life for his friends’ – John 15: 13.
Even when on the cross Jesus uttered these words, ‘Father forgive them for they know not what they do ‘Luke 23: 34. Wars and hostility are a mark of our human condition and Jesus paid the price of our sin to give us hope and a future. We must follow Him and forgive each other – Ephesians 4:32,’ And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.’ ‘Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive’ Colossians 3: 13. Love from LV & NV.

Has Christmas Lost Its Real Meaning?
Many families this year will be hard pressed financially knowing that they cannot meet the needs and wants of their children. The adverts are geared to make us all want to spend and for many that means getting into debt using their credit cards. So, is Christmas about exchanging gifts and making merry at all costs? The answer of course is no. The real reason to celebrate is because of Christs birth, now that’s a real reason to be glad.
Whether we are rich or poor we all need to know that in Jesus through His death, burial and resurrection we can know sins forgiven and peace with God. That is a priceless gift, one that cost our Lord Jesus Christ His life for our sakes. So, whether you can celebrate Christmas or not, remember God’s greatest gift for He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son for you and me. May the Lord grant you a blessed Christ-mas. Roy.

A Royal Throne and a Bed of Straw
This Christmas will be the first that we shall not hear the late Queen Elizabeth II give a Christmas day message, but it will be the first from her son King Charles 111. This has always been a time of reflection on the year gone by. A time to review the past and thinking about the future.
The Queen would at times refer to the true story of Christmas and her own faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Above all, the advent of Jesus is the true royal Christmas message. How many this Christmas will reflect on why He came to this world.? How many will consider the purpose of His mission to humankind? Or how many will ponder the offer of hope He came to freely give?
We live in a society and culture that has grown more distant and indifferent to the gospel or even the mention of Jesus. We find ourselves as it were in a post Christian world and we see the nations are in turmoil. Yet, despite this, the world can still be reached with the life-giving message of hope in Christ Jesus. We need the loving conviction of the Holy Spirit to bring the life-giving message of grace to those who are lost.
It is God’s work to bring light into darkness and give beauty for ashes, hope for despair, forgiveness for sin, freedom instead of guilt. It is the reason of Christ becoming flesh. The one who fashioned the cosmos, came to know the lowliness of a straw bed. He took on our frailty and came from the royal heavenly throne to wear a crown of thorns.
We who have put our trust in Him can lift up our heads. We may feel heavy of heart or downtrodden by the weight of life’s burdens and feel the overwhelming reality of our own weakness amongst all that is going on around us. Yet Jesus knows our deepest need and is the only one who can carry these needs. Let us put these things at His feet and remember He alone is able to carry them. He will work out all things together for good to those who love him – Romans 8: 28. – NV.

Have a very Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year from the Team and Trustees

Greetings
Greetings everyone,
In the book of Jonah when God told Jonah to go to Nineveh he shot off in the opposite direction.
The Assyrians were a powerful and wicked nation and Jonah hated them, but he could not run from God. He boarded a boat for Joppa and God sent a great wind on the sea. The mariners were in fear of their lives; Jonah wasn’t worried as he was asleep and he would sooner die than go to Nineveh.
God sovereign work is evident: –
Chapter 1v4 wind v17 fish; Chapter 2v10 release of Jonah; Chapter 4v6 the vine, v7 worm, v8
wind. In chapter 1v9 we see Jonah’s first of three confessions,2v9 and 4v2.
Jonah had concern for the seamen but not for Nineveh. He said throw me overboard but the men
were reluctant to shed innocent blood but Jonah persuaded them to do so.
Chapter 2 we see he was drowning but the Lord provided a great fish to swallow him up.
Chapter 2v1 he called to the Lord; v6 was brought up from the pit; v9 He gave a song of
thanksgiving and confession; salvation comes from the Lord. Chapter 3 as soon as Jonah went to
Nineveh and spoke the words God told him to and salvation did come to them after repenting.
Chapter 4v1 Jonah was angry because he knew that this would happen as he did not want them
to be saved. God even supplied shelter for Jonah yet he was more concerned about the shelter
from the vine than God showing kindness and mercy to more than hundred and twenty thousand
people and many livestock.
Psalm 36v6 & Eze 33v11 – God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Eze 18v21-23.
Jonah rejoiced in His mercies to Israel but only wrath to their enemies. Have a look at what Jonah
said to the Lord in Chapter 4v2.
Please read as there are only 4 chapters in Jonah and let us see where we stand. Do we weep
over lost items, animals or when we are swept away by sudden circumstances or, do we have no
compassion for the lost? Do we follow the Lord or run away from our commission?
God was glorified using one man to save a nation! Every blessing Mick.
Chale Show
What a great joy to have been at this year’s show. The show was well attended and so our face
painting team was extremely busy. To see a child’s face light up looking in a mirror after their face paint was such a joy. This was a great opportunity for Christian witness and many tracts were
given out and conversations made. We thank the organisers for enabling us to be there. We thank
the Lord for this great opportunity.

“You Must Be Born Again”
In John’s gospel chapter 3 verses 1-16. We have Nicodemus’ encounter with Jesus at night time.
Jesus said to Nicodemus “you must be born again”. Being born again of the spirit is absolutely
essential for us to have a relationship with God. It is the Holy Spirit who brings to life the scriptures as we read them and He also enables us to live a godly life in this fallen world. Again, the Holy Spirit develops in our lives His fruit as described in Galatians chapter 5 verse 22 but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-
control (NKJV). This is evidence that we have truly been born again! Of course, these very fruits
are the true nature of Jesus Christ our dear Lord and Saviour. May we each reflect our Saviour’s
nature in the way we speak, live and witness to His glory.
Every blessing to you and your families. Roy
The Journey of life
As we go through life, we can become disappointed as we do not always get what we want – the
job, promotion, house, the place where we live; our health which can deter us from doing the
things we want. When we look back, we can often see why God has not given us what we want.
There is a reason – the job he has put us in, the place where we live, the promotion we never got,
which could have meant not coping with the job. Even health wise it is difficult to understand why,
but we know God is always with us holding our hand as we go through life. Heather.
A Royal Throne and a Finished work
Our last newsletter coincided with the platinum jubilee of our Queen and this time also we find that we are in the midst of history being written as Her Majesty Elizabeth II has passed from this
earthly abode to the heavenly realms to stand before her Lord and king. In one week, we had a
change of prime minister and a royal accession as her son, the royal heir, has been crowned King
Charles III. It is certainly a pivotal point in history and the life of this nation and indeed the world.
For 70 years Queen Elizabeth carried out her duties with dedication and service. She confessed
her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and has now finished the work that was entrusted to her, so has
now passed on the baton. In this time of mourning, remembrance and celebration we may be
reminded that not everything stays the same. So many had grown up and lived as Elizabethans. It
seemed the dear Queens reign would go on and on. In the course of history, nations rise up and
are again laid low, dictators and conflicts come and go; monarchs have their allotted time and in
the case of her Majesty having such a central focus in history has now gone on from here and left
behind a changing world.
We must keep our eyes on the Lord of history who does not change and is not held up or subdued
by the things of time. As with the Queen, we His people are part of ‘His-story’. We remember the
Servant King who left His royal throne and dwelt among His creation, taking on our likeness and
identifying with humankind. He carried our sorrows and our iniquities and cried ‘It is Finished!’ He finished that work He came to do and He is our Lord, Saviour, High Priest, Coming King as well as the believer’s true friend. Has there ever been a monarch like Jesus who owned all yet laid aside His glory for his people and become a friend of sinners?
I love the words of the last verse of this great hymn, ‘I’ve found a friend, oh such a friend, so kind
and true and tender; so wise a counsellor and guide, so mighty a defender, from Him who loves
me now so well, what power my soul can sever? Shall life or death, shall earth or hell? No! I am
His forever.’ James G. Small 1866 – I’ve found a friend, oh such a friend (final verse). Amen.
Prayer: Father, help us to finish the race and to complete the work you have given us to do so
Jesus would be made known through the power of the Gospel, In His name, Amen. – N.V.

Every Blessing, the team & trustees.

‘Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed because His compassion’s fail not, they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness’. Lamentations 3: 23.
The Lord’s blessing to you all.
When I get up in the morning, I sound like a breakfast cereal – snap, crackle and pop. Have you noticed as we get older, how the hills get steeper, the bus gets faster, the writing gets smaller, and the mirrors are not very kind?
This Easter, we desired to walk around the island with the cross for the first time in 3 years. My only problem was I am suffering from tendon trouble and so have difficulty walking.
All the years before I was able to walk in my own strength. This time was entirely different, physi-cally it was impossible but I said to the lads that we’ll have to see what happens when I put the cross on my shoulder. The Lord graciously allowed me to walk around the island with the cross and we had a blessed time sharing the Gospel with people. As soon as we’d finished, I couldn’t walk again and am still having troubles now, Praise the Lord! I thank the Lord for showing me that it’s in His strength that He is glorified.
I’ve been studying Jeremiah, one interesting bit (please look for yourself) Jeremiah 42v7,43v7,
44v28. When the captains of the forces asked Jeremiah to pray, it took Jeremiah 10 days to come back to them with an answer. Today we live in a superfast 5G world – chicken ding in 3 minutes in the microwave. Is there a danger that our church life can become the same? They weren’t in-terested in what Jeremiah had to say only to seek approval for their plan, not God’s direction. It struck me that do we seek God’s approval for our plans and desires rather than asking Him for guidance? If we make plans, are we willing to allow God to change them? And when we pray are we willing to accept God’s answer? We’ve no need to be afraid because God will give us the abil-ity to serve His purpose. ‘The Lord is my portion says my soul, therefore I hope in Him.
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him’ – Lamentations 3 v 24,25.

Sharing our Faith
In Genesis 1 verse 31 it says that “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good”. I had with my family the recent opportunity to stay on Lindisfarne (Holy Island). The views on the island were beautiful and listening to the bird and seal songs each day made us appreciate God’s wondrous creation. According to scripture “We also are fearfully and wonderful-ly made”. Many visit this island for various reasons. Some visit for spiritual enlightenment as Christianity was spread from there to other parts of the country. The monks had a mission to spread the message of hope that we have in Christ Jesus. As I reflect on my own visit to that holy place, what influence do I make in sharing the “Good news”? The Apostle Paul in his letters to the churches sought to encourage and build up his fellow believers. We too have been given the task, let us not tire of doing good and share our faith with those who need to hear and see in our lives the reality of living for Jesus. Take a look at Galatians 6vrs9 to 10. Every blessing. Roy

A Royal Throne and a Place to Stand
Over the recent Bank Holiday we have been celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of our long serv-ing Queen Elizabeth II. This jubilee stands unique amongst monarchs who have gone before and those who may arise in the future. It has not just touched our nation but also far and wide around the globe. The Queen has served faithfully now for 70 years. Many find hope and com-fort at this time with the joy and common identity we share. We have all grown up with her majesty as our living figurehead. It may also bring a sense of relief from the burdens of the world with a joining together of so many in remembrance of the royal reign.
As true as this is, Her Majesty the Queen herself has confessed her trust in our Lord Jesus Christ and she has her hope in a higher throne far above all earthly power. This is a throne to whom all must stand and give an account one day whoever we are. It is also to be said that no human endeavour, no rich and powerful person, no worldly kingdom or those with a brilliant mind bring us true hope and meet our deepest need.
Many have aimed and tried to fathom the mysteries of life and to answer our deepest questions. I think of one certain man from antiquity who lived and died over 200 years before the Lord’s first Advent. He wrote a book entitled ‘The Sand Reckoner’ and in this book he set out to calcu-late the number of grains of sands in the whole universe. His results were a minute fraction off of modern physicists. His other keen developments were around the study of leverage. From this, he is known to have been behind the enhancement of weaponry used in battles in the Ro-man era. As for his development of the mastery of leverage he is believed to have said some-thing like this: ’Give me a length of wood and a place to stand and I can turn the world upside down’.
While we would certainly celebrate someone of Archimedes calibre, we are pointed to the one who has already numbered every grain of sand and reigns over all as creator, judge and king, but also reveals Himself as the Saviour of the world. He was given a length of wood and a place to stand. He bore the cross at Calvary! Being the Son of God (though He Himself needs nothing from us) and demonstrating His love for us, He humbled Himself in our human likeness to complete what we could not do. Or any human ruler could do but to pay the penalty that was ours and bringing us eternal peace. Philippians 2: 5-10; Colossians 1: 13-20: Hebrews 1: 1-3.
While we gather to remember one historical Jubilee, we uphold an eternal Jubilee of God who through Jesus has cancelled our debt and redeemed sinners as His own. Whatever position in life and whatever situation we find ourselves in these troubled and turbulent times we know the dear Lord will finish the work He started in us. We can cast all of our care on Him for He cares for us.
Every Blessing, the team & trustees.

Greetings
“With loving kindness I have drawn thee” Jer: 31 vrs 3.
Greetings to you all in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We’ve had a lot of fellowship lately with Percy!!! (PERSEVERANCE!!)
It seems that life is one big fair ground, you try to get information and straight away you are taken for a ride on a carousel. An automated voice tells you that you are No 28 in the queue and for
training purposes, press 1 for stress, press 2 for depression, press 3 for anxiety; ‘our lines are very busy at the moment and your call is very important to us’!!! 2 hours later, blood pressure goes up, someone answers the phone to tell you that all the slots have been taken and you’ll have to call back tomorrow morning ha! ha! (PERSEVERANCE!!)
Isaiah says in 48 vrs 10 “I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction”.
Our infinite gracious God never puts us on “hold”, He’s always attentive to His children’s cry.
Paul says we’re justified by faith so we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, access by faith into His grace, unmerited favour, knowing that tribulation produces PERSEVERANCE!
CHARACTER and HOPE. Now hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
By God’s grace we shall endeavour this Holy week to walk the cross as in previous years. We would appreciate your prayers, this year will be a little different as we’re small in number and we’ll be walking on the pavements only.
The Lord willing, there will be street witness in St James’s square Newport on Good Friday. It will most definitely be PERSEVERANCE!! We offer God our weaknesses that He would enable us to fulfil the desire of our hearts to be witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ. We purpose in our hearts but ultimately God directs our steps. 2 Cor 12 vrs 9. My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
May the Good Lord bless you this Easter, family, friends and loved ones.
Every blessing Mick.

Gods Faithfulness
Covid has left many people so fearful that they found it difficult to leave their homes or go out and
meet people, or go to the shops or Church as they would have liked. Also, with the different things
going on in the world and the terrible things that are happening in Ukraine at the time of writing this, are not helping, but God is also doing miracles in Ukraine. We all have different fears, some
irrational. One of mine for some reason was motorways, where to see our relations we need to go on three different motorways in succession to get there. I had to pray hard about it, and when God finally released me from this fear it made such a difference to my life and made me feel quite
joyous. Regardless of what happens in life, the Lord tells us not to fear, He will take care of us. In Timothy it says God did not give us a spirit of fear. David said in Psalm 34 verse 4. “I sought the Lord and he delivered me from all my fears.” May we seek the Lord and with his help overcome our fears.
We thank you for your continued interest and we give praise to the dear Lord, Amen.

Run With Endurance
Hebrews 12 vrs 1 & 2, Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which easily ensnares us, and let us run with
endurance the race that is set before us looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,
who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the
right hand of the throne of God.
The writer of Hebrews seeks to encourage us not to give up as there is a great cloud of witnesses
urging us on. He also refers to our dear Saviour who bore great suffering on the cross to save us
from our sins and to give us who believe and trust Him eternal life. At the time of writing we are
looking forward to Holy Week and all that it means to us. Every time we share in communion we
remember our Lord affectionately until the day we attend that great feast the marriage supper of
the Lamb. What joy awaits us when we see Him face to face. Let us run with endurance so that we
may hear those words “Well done good and faithful servant”. Every blessing Roy

Gods peace in the turmoil
Praise the Lord,
Give thanks to the Lord,
His love endures forever
Psalm (106:1)

We can’t help but worry about things that are out of our control and happening in the world today.
Covid is still a massive worry for most of us, as well as all the personal circumstances we all go through. We can know and trust in a powerful God who can help us overcome these struggles, if we trust in him.
Philippians (4:6-7) tells us “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which tran-scends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds, in Christ Jesus”.
Love and blessings to you all – Lin.

Easter Outreach
The Easter holidays are nearly on us once again and it seems a long time ago since we were out and about in this way. We look forward to this year’s ‘Walk of Witness’ though reduced in number. Who knows what opportunities for gospel conversation the Lord will direct, but pray that He will certainly use this time for His glory and that seeds will be sown. The walk will take place from Palm Sunday 10th April to Easter Sunday 17th April, with a rest day on Saturday April 16th. On Good Friday we will be aiming to set up for street outreach at St James Square, Newport in the morning.
The walks will be through pavement areas only with the cross being transported between town areas of the island. We may not be able to do what we once did physically for the walk, but spiritually we make ourselves available and who knows that the loving, gracious Lord we serve may speak hope into the life of someone in need of Jesus .

Every Blessing, the team & trustees.

Happy and Blessed Christmas to you all
I have just finished the book of Job and I’m going through the Psalms and some of these are just as painful, look at Psalm 102 the writer was so distressed that he forgot to eat.
The Psalms were written between the time of Moses around 1440 BC and the Babylonian captivity 586 BC. Again its amazing how many reference’s there are to the Lord, it’s not surprising Jesus spoke about this in Luke 24v44, the law of Moses the Prophets and Psalms. It’s a way to describe the entire Old Testament that points to the Messiah, explaining His role as Prophet foretold in Deut 18v15-20. His sufferings were prophesied in Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53, His resurrection was predicted in Psalm 16v9-11 and Isaiah 53v10-11.
Here are some references in Psalms about the coming Messiah:-

Ref: in Psalms Ref: to Christ Fulfilment in NT
2 : 7 The Messiah will be God’s Son Hebrews 1: 5-6

16: 8-10 He will rise from the dead Luke 24: 5-7

22: 1-21 He will experience agony on the cross Mathew: 26-27

22: 18 Evil men cast lots for His clothing Math 27: 35 John 19:23-24

22: 15 He thirst while on the cross John 19:28

22: 22 He will declare God’s name Hebrews 2:12

34: 20 His bones would not be broken John 19:36-37

40: 6-8 He came to do God’s will Hebrews :10 5-7

41: 9 His close friend would betray Him Luke 22:48

45:6-7 His throne will last forever Hebrews 1:8-9

68 :18 He ascended into heaven Ephesian’s 4:8-10

69 :9 He is zealous for God John 2:17
69 :21 He was offered vinegar for His thirst on the cross Mathew 27:48

89 :3,4,35,36 He will be a descendent of David Luke 1:31-33

96 :13 He will return and judge the world 1 Thess 1:10

110 :4 He is the eternal priest king Hebrews 6:20

118 :22 He is rejected by many but accepted by God 1 Peter 2:7-8

Also take a look at Psalm 34:7 & Psalm 35: 5-6, then cross reference them with Genesis 16:7, the angel of the Lord (second person of the trinity), all these amazing prophesies are now to be enjoyed in our time. When we become born again by God’s good grace, we look forward to the coming of the Lord for a second time.
So let us rejoice and be glad at this special time of the year, when we remember the greatest gift given to the world, a Saviour Christ the King.

God bless and keep you all safe and well. Mick

An Answer To Prayer
A dear friend of ours Neil was diagnosed sometime ago with an advancing pelvic cancer
involving his prostate, bowel, pelvic wall, bladder and lymph nodes. He had already been given chemo and radio therapies including a colostomy bag. He was told that his life expectancy would be no more than three years. Last Wednesday he had to attend surgery called a pelvic exenteration and was told by the surgeon that the cancer had completely gone. Many of us had prayed for sometime that the Lord would restore him to health. We thank the Lord with Neil for his deliverance. We are so thankful that we can share this good news. So whatever we face let us never give up and keep trusting our dear Lord.

Christmas a time to reflect and rejoice
Last year our Christmas celebrations were extremely restricted owing to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. We hope this year will be different although that is unknown.
Whether we experience a near normal Christmas or not, we do have a good reason to celebrate in our hearts the wondrous conception and birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We will never fully appreciate why Jesus should so humble Himself by taking human flesh as a babe and to experience life here on earth. We truly can be thankful that His purpose through His death on the cross was to give us salvation by His redeeming blood. Through His sacrifice our relationship with the Holy Trinity has been restored. We now by faith receive our sins forgiven and the promise of eternal life. We are grateful for His first coming and we wait for Him to return as He has promised.
May this hope give us much comfort. Every blessing. Roy

Bus Witness
You may be glad to know that we have started to take the bus out, we have limited the times out taking special care to wear masks, gel hands and restrict the number of persons on the bus at any time.

May God’s blessing be with you all , in Him, from the team & trustees. We pray that you may be encouraged in the Lord and know the peace of knowing his word in your hearts.

Jesus Is The Answer
Much love in our dear Lord Jesus Christ,
I have just finished a study on the book of Job, and how intimately it is tied to the New Testament.
We as followers of Jesus are not exempt from pain and suffering, I myself have been facing cancer for two years, as well as all the other pains as we get older. Such as opening a bag of crisps, unscrewing a jar of jam or changing a light bulb, when you’re shoulders won’t let you.
It’s one pain on top of many others, then you get the news you have cancer, it can be a painful experience that could put you down in the dust with Job. We can feel sorry for ourselves.
We may think that God doesn’t hear us when we pray, because we have fallen short of His high standard of Holy living. If we have trusted Jesus Christ for our salvation, wonderfully God has forgiven us, even when we feel our prayers are not being answered.
He still hears and answers in His good time, although they may not be what we expect.
Instead of looking at God in the shadow of our problem, let’s look at the problem in the light of God’s love and power, for He’s able to do more than we can imagine, and bring about our healing and restoration. I’ve just got the all clear from cancer, Praise the Lord.
As I said in the beginning, Job and the New Testament are intimately tied because Job’s and our problems are answered perfectly in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Subject ( ref:Job) (Jesus is the answer)
-Someone must help us approach God (Job 9:32-33). (1 Tim 2:5).
– Is there life after death? (Job 14:14).(John 11:25).
-There is one in heaven working on our behalf,(Job 16:19) (Hebrews 9:24).
-There is one who can save us from judgment (Job 19:25).( Hebrews 7:24-25).
-Where can we find God. (Job 23:3-5).(John 14:9).
-What is important in life. (Job 21:7-15). (Math 16:25-26 & John 3:16).
Check it out for yourselves!!! and be encouraged.
Healing and safety and love be yours Mick.

Autumn, a time for gathering in
Many of us like to grow our own vegetables and fruit. Now is the time that we look forward to har-vesting the fruit of our labours. It is always good to thank the Lord for His abundant provision, es-pecially when we eat our meals. It can be so easy to take God’s rich blessings for granted!
I am always reminded of the hymn by Henry Alford:-
Come ye thankful people come
Raise the song of harvest home
All is safely gathered in
Ere the Winter storms begin
God our maker doth provide
For our wants to be supplied
Come to God’s own temple, come
Raise the song of harvest home

Verse two refers to us being holy and pure.
Verse three refers to the end of the age when God shall come.
Verse four refers to the church triumphant now in heaven.
Jesus said “ that the harvest is plenty but the labourers are few”. Matt 9v37.

During this difficult time of dealing with the Covid situation it has had a great effect on our lives in what we could or could not do. Sharing Christian fellowship face to face has also come with it’s
difficulties but praise our God who has (so far) seen us safely through.
There are many opportunities to share the good news if we are willing, and often in practical ways.
We are so grateful for the faithful support given to the “Godbus” outreach. Your prayers and financial support is greatly appreciated.
Another hymn comes to mind written by Edward Joseph Burns that starts with the phrase:-

We have a gospel to proclaim good news for men in all the earth
The gospel of a Saviours name: we sing His glory, tell His worth.

May our zeal for our dear Lord and His gospel never wane.
Every blessing, Roy.

Count your Blessings
Recently I seem to be reading or hearing about counting your blessings. Some days it is hard to count our blessings, whether we be in chronic pain, the loss of someone close, or feeling lonely, when life seems too much especially in the night when things look bleak and we cannot sleep for whatever reason. But we are all precious in God’s sight and he wants to comfort us in these times.

There is so much to be thankful for, the sunshine, the flowers which are amazing especially when you look closely at the details in each one of them, the trees, the clouds all so different. We are thankful for our Church family, especially when our own family live far away or we live on our own. Also, friends can be a real blessing, and especially for God always being there for us.

Perhaps if at the end of the day we could write down our blessings, however small or big and think of the lovely chorus from the old hymn. “Count your blessings name them one by one, Count your blessings see what God has done; Count your blessings name then one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.”- Heather.

May God’s blessing be with you all. From the team & trustees.
We pray that you may be encouraged in the Lord and experience the peace of His word in your hearts.

Thank you for your continued interest and we give praise to the dear Lord, Amen.

Greetings
Greetings in our Lord Jesus.
There is a lovely but sad story in 1 King’s 13, it would do a world of good if you read it!
A man of God (prophet) was sent to warn the King, who was doing evil in the sight of the Lord.
The prophecy in verse 2, came to pass 300 years later by Josiah, you can read about this in 2 King’s 23 v 1-20, a wonderful prophecy naming the child thousands of years before any scan’s.
Verse 4, the king tries to arrest the prophet but the King’s hand withered, note verse 6 then the King wanted a favour even when the prayer was answered but he didn’t repent.
The man of God was told not to eat or drink (anywhere) but in verse 8 place was added.
Verse 11 there was an old prophet in Bethel, his son’s told him all the works the man of God had done, so he went in search of him and found him sitting under an oak.
Verse 14 Are you the man of God?, (if he was a prophet he would have known who he was, but he was a lying prophet). An angel had spoken to him and told the man of God to come back with him, sadly he listened to the wrong voice and went back with him.
Verse 20 the man of God disobeyed Gods word, as he was told not to eat and drink in any place.
Verse 24 sadly as he travelled back a lion killed him, the lion and the donkey stood by him, but the lion didn’t eat the corpse or the donkey, because as no-one was eaten this showed it was a divine judgement. So what can we learn about ourselves from this reading?
We must reflect on what the scriptures teach us. Are we listening to the right voice being aware of someone coming with supposingly a word from God? The sheep know the Shepherd’s voice!
The prophet rested under the oak tree instead of completing the mission God had given him and especially not to go back the way he came, so as to get in a rut, (doing the same thing, over and over, in our own way not God’s way), we must be careful that we don’t make a deep rut for ourselves, and not be able to get out of it. Did the man of God rest on his old experience! (old manna).
Gods faithfulness is new every morning. What has gone before is history, it’s how we finish that’s important. In reflection, sadly I must quote Paul, Romans 7 v 24 O wretched man that I am,
I can’t change myself so I pray Psalm 51 V10 create in me a clean heart O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Please read and check this out for yourself
Every blessing to you all, stay safe and well, God bless. Love Mick & Annie

The Certain Future
With all the uncertainty we have faced during the last 15 or so months it is possible that we can become anxious or even worried about the future and what it holds for us. With constant reports through the media that there are other Covid variants that could affect the gradual getting back to normal life this can drag us down. The truth is that we can only live one day at a time, Jesus said “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” Matt 6:34 (NKJV). We place our hope and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. He has promised never to leave or forsake us, what a promise indeed! So often we allow our feelings to dictate and obscure where our true hope lies.
Here are some comforting words from King David who faced many a trial.
Psalm 139:7 Where shall I go from Your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from Your pres-ence? 139:8 If I go up into Heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. 139:9 If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the furthest parts of the sea; 139:10 even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. 139:11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me, even the night shall be light around me. 139:12 Yea, the darkness does not hide from You; but the night shines as the day; as is the darkness, so is the light to You.
May His grace and peace be with you now and always. Roy

A Reminder of Gods grace to the lost
Matthew 8:11-12 KJV 11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. – There will be many in heaven who once were drunkards on earth. There will be many harlots: some of the most abandoned will be found there. You remember the story of Whitefield’s once saying, that there would be some in heaven who were “the devil’s castaways;” some that the devil would hardly think good enough for him, and yet whom Christ would save. Lady Huntingdon once gently hinted that such language was not quite proper. But, just at the time, there happened to be heard a ring at the bell, and Whitefield went down-stairs. Afterwards he came up and said, “Your ladyship, what do you think a poor woman had to say to me just now? She was a sad profligate, and she said, ‘O, Mr. Whitefield, when you were preaching, you told us that Christ would take in the devil’s castaways, and I am one of them,'” and that was the means of her salvation. – Charles H Spurgeon.
Blessings, Richard.

Words of encouragement
We all need encouragement at times, God has encouraged us if we believe in him, he will give us strength, no matter what we are dealing with John 14:17; Deuteronomy 31:6,8; Matthew 11:28-29.
Thank you all for your continued prayer, it is very much appreciated.

The Gospel Commission
Go throughout the whole world and preach the gospel to all mankind. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16v15 and 16.
Being a member of the GODBUS since the year 2001, it has been a joy to share the word of God with islanders and visitors alike. Since March 2020 the bus outreach team have not been out ow-ing to the outbreak of Covid and the lockdown regulations to combat it. We pray that we will soon be allowed out in the streets once again. B Penney.
May God richly bless us all in His service.

We thank you for your continued interest and support. May the Lord bless you and those you love.

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4: 12 NKJV

Greetings in His Name
What’s in a name? In ancient times, it said everything about the character of the person.
Psalm 111v9: He provides redemption for His people. He ordained His covenant forever, forever Holy and awesome is His name, the name above all other names.
Psalm 111v5: provides food for those who fear Him “our daily bread”.
Psalm 5v11: But let all who take refuge in you be glad, let them ever sing for joy, spread your protection over them that those that love your name may rejoice in you.
Psalm 79v6: We can pray to His name.
Psalm 20v1: & Proverbs 18v10 The name of the Lord protects.
Psalm 54v1: The Lord saves by His name and His saving acts testify that His name is near.
Psalm 52v9: hope in His name; Psalm 7v17: sing praise to His name
Psalm 89v16: and rejoice in His name Psalm 69v36: both love-Psalm 61v5: and fear are directed toward His name.
2 Chronicles 7: 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Don’t make this present situation a time to be afraid but fear the Lord in a reverential way that is wise.
What’s in a name? I Am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through ME. – John 14: 6. WHAT A NAME !!
As the song goes, we’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when, but I know we’ll meet again some SON-e-day!!!
Every blessing, Mick.

Give thanks
It is good to give thanks to our Lord and Saviour for the miracle of salvation. To think that He gave His life for us to save us from the wrath to come demonstrates His perfect love and compassion. Jesus cared much about the lost, the orphan and the widow that’s why He died to save us from our sin. We have much to rejoice in as we consider His love and care for each of us despite our present circumstances. We must be careful not to grumble about our circumstances as this offends God our Father in that it says that He is not in control and yet He is Sovereign over all.
Psalm 103 vrs 1 says “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
God bless – Roy.

A year to remember
There have always been scenes or events of history that spark future remembrance for different reasons. When we dwell on years past there may well be a certain one that has great significance to us. It may bring back times of reminiscence, times of reflection on past historical events or times of celebration as well as remembrance that also brings back times of grief. Many people may remember where they were in a particular year when something occurred that has had a profound effect on the world stage. People may recall where they were when the news broadcast informed the nation about the tragedy involving Princess Diana, many others recall the day of 9/11 and what they were doing that day. Some may tell you what they remembered from the year you were born. In my case it was the year President Kennedy was assassinated. For others it may be when England won the world cup. Of course personal remembrance plays a great part as we may all remember the year, the place and time our children were born or things that have happened that have changed the course of one’s life for good. We know things never stay the same and the scenes of life change and who could have predicted what this year was going to bring? Who knows how long this Corona virus situation is going to remain and who knows how this year will end? This year will certainly leave a lasting memory etched in this nation and around the world.

A year in perspective
We cannot take away how many may recall this year but there is a sure way to remember this year in context as well as any other year. I remember when any year was written down, it was followed by the letters AD, ‘Anno Domini’ meaning ‘the year of our Lord’. Also there was BC – Before Christ for the years of the past preceding Jesus’ birth. Every year is significant as it relates to when our Saviour God stepped into human history.
In November we will remember the world’s conflicts once again and those who laid down their lives. We mark the end of war time and when peace was declared. We may also remember that in a fallen world the conflict of human kind has raged since the beginning when we lost our place with the living God and so lost peace within ourselves and with one another.
Whatever happens for the remainder of the months ahead before 2021 comes upon us, we know that nothing falls outside of the Lord’s Kingly reign or the scope of His power. It is fitting that we will once again reflect as the year draws to its close, on that time when the Lord Jesus was born in human likeness and came to rescue us from sin and a lost eternity. He visited us in divine love and brought reconciliation and hope when we as a dying race were lost. He is bigger than all our doubt, our fears, our disappointments, our trials and our cares because of who He is.

Lord of the years
Our times are in God’s hands and as the author of life He has complete control and knowledge of us and has allotted the days of our lives.
‘For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvellous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, And skilfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them’. – Psalm 139: 13-16. That alone calls for our response and to trust in the dear Lord and to surrender our own understanding and ways to a faithful God. The hymn writer Timothy Dudley Smith wrote the words of the well known worship song, ‘Lord for the years, your love has kept and guided…’. There is such a lot in that hymn that can speak to us that rings with biblical gospel truth, but I will draw your attention to one of the verses.
‘Lord, for our world; when we disown and doubt him,
loveless in strength, and comfortless in pain;
hungry and helpless, lost indeed without him,
Lord of the world, we pray that Christ may reign’.

May the Lord’s grace be with you and your loved ones.
