I read a story recently on the internet that really took my attention.
There was a pastor and his son who would regularly after the service on a Sunday morning take the time to give out tracts on the streets of their town. On a particular Sunday it was raining very hard and so the pastor said to his son that they would give it a miss, but his son wanted to go even though he was only eleven years old. His father let him go after much persistence. The young lad had given out all but one tract and so he called at the first house. He rang the door bell and tapped the door several times with no answer, he was about to leave when he felt that he should ring the door bell once more. An old lady came to the door and was told that ‘Jesus really loves you’ and was given the tract. The following Sunday in church this old lady came to the service, the pastor asked had anyone anything to share. The old lady got up and told her story of how she was about to commit suicide and due to the persistence of the young lad she went downstairs and took his tract as he said to her “Jesus really loves you”. She read the tract and realised that Jesus really loved her and she committed her life to the Lord there and then. She knew which church to come to because it was shown on the tract. If it were not for that young lad’s persistence that lady would have died without Christ. How about you and me? Do we take all the opportunities given even at our own inconvenience? Every blessing from Roy.
